Shao Dong belongs to Shaoyang City, Hunan Province.

Shaodong, a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Hunan Province, is managed by Shaoyang City, alias Zhaoyang. Located in the east of Shaoyang City, the terrain rises from north to south, the middle part rises, and the east and west are inclined. It governs 3 streets, 18 towns, 4 townships, 1 field, 1 provincial economic development zone. With an area of 1.778 square kilometers and a population of 1.345 million, it is known as the "hometown of various industries", "city of commerce" and "private capital".

The main mineral deposits in Shaodong are gypsum, coal, lead, zinc, manganese and iron. National Highway 320, Provincial Highway S3 15, Tanshao Expressway, Shao Heng Expressway, Loushao Railway, Luozhan Railway and Huaiheng Railway pass through the territory. Shaodong hydrology

There are steamed water, shaoshui water and measured water in Shaodong city, which originate from Shizhuqiao, Shuangfeng and sandstone respectively, and flow out of the county in a radial east-west direction and inject into Hunan and Hippo chefs. Caojiaba in Shaoshui, formerly known as Tongjiang and Yunquan, is a first-class tributary of Zijiang. Originated in Yandangli, northwest of Huilongfeng in Shuangfeng Township, it flows 28.3 kilometers northeast to Tangxia Bridge. The river width is15m, the riverbed is sediment, there are 8 tributaries, and there are 34 tributaries with a drainage area of 10 square kilometers.

Steamed water, also known as Caohe, was called water in ancient times. Originated in Zhengjiachong, Shizhuqiao Township. Beiliu passes Lingguantang to Shetian Bridge, turns east through Dongjiang River, leaves the county seat in Shimawan, Nantang Village, and enters Xiangjiang River through Hengyang, a first-class tributary of Xiangjiang River. The drainage area of the county is 563.7 square kilometers, the flow rate is 66 kilometers, and the slope is 1.69‰. There are 98 large and small tributaries, and 20 tributaries with a basin area of 10 square kilometers or more.

Measuring water is a secondary tributary of Xiangjiang River. Originated in Yandechong, a gravel township, it flows through Wulongyan gravel in the northwest and injected into Liuguangling Reservoir, then turned to Shuangjiang Bridge in the northeast, and left the county seat at Xianghuashu to join the Mekong River. The drainage area in the county is 35 17 square kilometers, and the flow is 263 kilometers, with a gradient of 2.24‰. There are 42 tributaries, including 12 tributaries with a basin area greater than 10 square kilometers.
