About the author of Suqiu
Pu Songling (1640~1715), also known as Liuquan Jushi, Mr. Liaozhai, also known as Liuxian, Yizi Jianchen, also known as Liuquan Jushi, known as Mr. Liaozhai in the world, [Zichuan, Shandong (today's Zichuan, Shandong) Zibo) people. He had a literary reputation at an early age and was deeply valued by Shi Runzhang and Wang Shizhen. He failed in many provincial examinations and became a Gongsheng student at the age of seventy-one. Except for a time in Baoying when he was middle-aged, he lived in his hometown and worked as a private school teacher for the rest of his life. He comes from a poor family and is exposed to the lives of the people at the bottom. He is good at poetry and prose, and is good at composing folk songs. He spent decades writing a collection of short stories "Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio", which he continued to revise and add. His book uses the style of Tang romance novels and criticizes the society and politics of the time through talking about foxes and ghosts. He is the author of "Collected Works from a Chinese Studio", "Collected Poems from a Chinese Character Studio", "Songs from a Chinese Chinese Character Studio" and many other popular books on agriculture and medicine. There are also 13 volumes of anthology with more than 400 pieces, 8 volumes of poetry with more than 900 pieces, 1 volume with more than 100 poems, 14 kinds of folk songs, 3 plays, and 5 kinds of miscellaneous works.
