Longchuan Hu of Hu family in Jixi
Hu Yan, the ancestor of Hu family in Longchuan, as a regular attendant of Sanshou and a leader of middle school, went south with Emperor Jin Yuan to guard Xuzhou (later changed to Huizhou) in Anhui Province, and married Wang in Huayang Town (now Jixi County) in 337 AD. Shortly after the marriage, Hu Yan came to Longchuan, about 1 kilometers east of Huayang Town, and found that "Feng Long is in the east, Fengguan is in the west, Tianma is rushing up in the south, and Changxi (Dengyuan River) winds up in the north". Hu Yan felt that the landscape here was beautiful and it was a rare treasure trove of geomantic omen, so his family moved here and settled down. Ancient Huizhou architecture pays attention to "getting water first", Longchuan is built according to Dengyuan River, and the whole village is like a big ship docked on the shore. Longchuan Hu is a famous "Jinshi Village" with a large number of talented people. There are only 11 Jinshi in the Song, Ming and Qing Dynasties. Among them, the most famous are Hu Fu, the minister of the Ming Dynasty, Hu Zongxian, the minister of the Ministry of War, and Hu Zongming, the governor of Liaodong. The Yishi Shangshufang, built for Hu Fu and Hu Zongxian, is now preserved in the village, which is a fine stone carving of Huizhou style with a history of more than 4 years.
