Acid rain pollution status in the Yangtze River Basin and nearby areas

Mainly because the Yangtze River Basin is my country’s industrial concentration zone, Hubei and Sichuan. Chongqing, Jiangsu, and Shanghai are all important industrial centers in Central and East China, with heavy and chemical industries densely distributed. This leads to the formation of regional acid rain in the Yangtze River Basin.

Acid rain is a kind of disastrous weather. The harm of acid rain is mainly to reduce crop yields, destroy forests and grasslands, corrode buildings, pollute rivers and lakes, etc. Since my country uses coal as the main energy source, Acid rain is also dominated by sulfuric acid type acid rain.

Countermeasures: Reduce dust emissions from heavy chemical industries, increase desulfurization of chemical companies, etc.
