Dujing Town, the Silk Capital of China

After the establishment of Du Jingzhen in 2000, the advantage it faced was the silk industry. Dujing Town, located on the east bank of the middle reaches of Jialing River, has a population of 65438+600,000, and now has more than one silk enterprise 10. Among them, "Liuhe" and "Dehe" have a history of nearly a hundred years.

Based on this, the town formally submitted a request to China Silk Association in February 2009. The content of the request is to apply for naming Du Jing as the "First Silk Town of China".

After careful consideration, the expert group believes that almost all competitive enterprises in Nanchong's silk industry with a long history are located in Dujing Town. Jiangsu and Zhejiang are known as the Silk Hometown of China. However, in recent years, with the promotion of the national strategy of "moving mulberry from east to west", the silk industry in Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces is not as good as before, and many enterprises have moved in. In addition, due to the global financial crisis last year, most silk enterprises in Jiangsu and Zhejiang have laid off employees, reduced wages and stopped production. In this context, the silk enterprises in Du Jingzhen are "great" in terms of scale, output and sales. When the town submitted an application to the China Silk Association, the China Silk Association completed the discussion, evaluation and investigation of the application for instructions, and thought that Du Jing Town had the corresponding conditions and strength. On April 8th, 2009, the Association and China Cocoon and Silk Coordination Office decided to award Du Jing the "First Silk Town in China".
