Internal environment of Tianluokeng Tulou Group
Tianluokeng Earth Building Group consists of 1 square building (Buyun Building), 3 circular buildings (Hechang Building, Zhenchang Building and Ruiyun Building) and 1 oval building (Wenchang Building). The square building Buyun Building is in the middle, and the other four buildings are surrounded by it, which is scattered according to the mountain situation. The exquisite architectural combination of Tianluokeng earth buildings constitutes a unique landscape of humanity and nature, which gives people a strong ornamental impact and is breathtaking. The locals nicknamed it "four dishes and one soup". The first tulou in Tianluokeng Tulou Group is Buyun Building, which is a square building in the center of plum blossom. Built in the first year of Jiaqing (1796), it has three floors, each with 26 rooms and 4 stairs. Named Buyun, it means that future generations will become rich and their career will rise step by step. Sure enough, Buyun Building is still under construction, and the people have financial resources. Then they began to build a new circular building on its upper right, called Hechang Building, which is also three stories high, with 22 rooms and two stairs on each floor. 1930, Zhenchang Building was built on the upper left of Buyun Building. Buyun Building is still three stories high with 26 rooms on each floor. 1936, Ruiyun Building rises again at the lower right of Buyun Building, which is still three floors with 26 rooms on each floor. The last Wenchang Building was built at 1966. To be exact, it is an oval building with three floors and 32 rooms on each floor. Tianluokeng Natural Village is named for its snail-like terrain, surrounded by towering mountains and low-lying middle, which looks like a pit. Among the five earth buildings, there are old wooden boards blackened by years, and the red couplets on the wooden boards are full of ancient and beautiful atmosphere; The shallots and bamboo baskets hanging high on the corridors and wooden posts, either leaning, lined up or facing each other, inadvertently constitute the beautiful decoration of the Tulou home. The cave selection of Tianluokeng Tulou follows the geomantic culture of China. Buyun Building is a "tiger catching" position, and Hechang Building is a "crab land" position. According to experts' research, these five earth buildings were built in the golden ratio of 2:3, 3:5 and 5:8. Historians and geographers call these five tulou outstanding representatives of Jin Mu's fire, water and soil in Zhouyi. On the lower left of the Tulou Group in Tianluokeng is the Huangs Ancestral Hall-Jiangxia Hall, which sits east to west (Yixin) and was built in the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty.
