What should I do if my computer is struck by lightning and the local connection disappears?
The computer was shaken by lightning and the local connection disappeared. At this time, you need to check whether the network card is burned out.
Detection method
1. Preliminary judgment: the previously normal desktop computer could not access the Internet. First check whether other computers can access the Internet normally. Or if the router has wireless Wifi, then check whether the mobile phone can connect to your own wifi and see if it can access the Internet. This determines whether it is a network problem. If the mobile phone can access the Internet, or other computers can access the Internet, there is a problem with your desktop computer.
2. If there are other desktop computers, remove the network card of the computer that can access the Internet normally (that is, the one connected to the network cable on the host computer) and replace it with a computer that cannot access the Internet to see if it can access the Internet. , if you can access the Internet after changing it, it is basically certain that the network card is broken.
3. If there is no other computer, check the equipment on the computer and see if there is any problem with the network adapter. Right-click the computer on the desktop and select ‘Manage’->‘Device Manager’->‘Network Adapter’. As shown in the picture, check whether the network card device is normal. If there is any abnormality, it will usually have a yellow exclamation mark or a red X. Right-click the card with an exclamation mark or an X, and select Update to install the driver. After the update, check whether you can access the Internet normally.
4. If you are still unsure, use the ping command. This is a little more professional. Click 'Start' on your computer --> 'Run' --> enter 'cmd', and then enter in the DOS command line, ping 127.0.0.1. The running result is returned normally. Make sure that the network settings are OK.
5. Then enter ipconfig to check your local IP address. ?
6. After getting the IP address, ping it to see if it can be connected. Still input in the DOS command line, this time the input is ping 192.168.0.8 (this IP needs to enter the IP you checked above) If it can be connected normally, it will return something like this, if it returns 'Resquest time out' , there is a problem with the network card.
The network card is equipped with a processor and memory (including RAM and ROM). Communication between the network card and the LAN is carried out through serial transmission through cables or twisted pairs. The communication between the network card and the computer is carried out in parallel transmission through the I/O bus on the computer motherboard. Therefore, an important function of the network card is to perform serial/parallel conversion. Since the data rate on the network is not the same as the data rate on the computer bus, a memory chip that caches the data must be installed in the network card.
When installing a network card, the device driver that manages the network card must be installed in the computer's operating system. This driver will later tell the network card where in the memory the data blocks transmitted from the LAN should be stored. The network card must also be able to implement the Ethernet protocol.
It is recommended not to use computers during thunderstorms. If necessary for work, please take lightning protection measures.
