Seda Buddhist College Travel Guide
The large-scale red buildings of Seda Buddhist College are densely built against the mountain. This large structure attracts a large number of tourists every year. Here is a detailed travel guide for you.
After the demolition of Seda, the number of red houses decreased a lot. but! The red house is still very big and beautiful! Especially when we went, it was snowing heavily and we didn’t want to have too much fun at all.
Seda Weather
The weather in the plateau area is sunny with rain (snow). The rain (snow) comes and goes quickly. There is no need to worry about the lack of sun during the whole journey. And Seda is particularly beautiful whether it is cloudy or sunny.
Itinerary
It was a 3-day trip. Because the mountain road was rugged and it was from the plains to the plateau, we chose the group plan.
The first day: Chengdu = Guanyin Bridge (via Wenchuan and Malkang)
The second day: Guanyin Bridge = Dongga Temple = Sky Burial Platform = Seda Wuming Buddhist College.
The third day: Seda = Guanyin Temple = Chengdu
Accommodation hotel
Stay in Guanyin Bridge on the first day and Seda County on the second day. I thought the accommodation conditions in Tibetan areas were very poor, but I didn’t expect them to be quite good! There is hot water and electric blankets on the bed!
Catering and food
Except for breakfast and dinner every day, which are arranged by the team, you can eat by yourself in the evening. Group meals are okay. Although Guanyinqiao is a small town at night, there are many choices, and Seda County has even more choices. The key is that you can also order takeout! We ordered some BBQ that night and it was delicious.
High altitude precautions
The altitude is nearly 4,000 meters, but don’t jump or jump. It’s easy to rebel. Rhodiola rosea can be taken one week to half a month in advance for prevention, but headaches and hypoxia may also occur. We went directly to Seda without eating Rhodiola rosea. My friend's aunt had lived in Seda for a long time, so we bought inosine oral liquid when we arrived. Although it is a medicine for treating acute hepatitis and enteritis, it also has some emergency effects on high fever!
Carry equipment
The plateau has strong ultraviolet rays, strong winds, and large temperature differences between day and night. Be sure to bring sunglasses, a hat, rain gear, non-slip shoes, and thick clothes. Although we encountered heavy snow at that time, we were basically frozen. Fortunately, I wore Keles' wind and snow down jacket and hiking shoes, which kept us warm.
Notes on taking photos
The total visit time to the Buddhist College is 5 hours, and taking photos is enough. You can take photos of people and buildings from the highest observation deck.
In addition, when I first saw the red house at the Buddhist College, it was also very suitable for taking environmental portraits! The other red walls and prayer wheels are very easy to photograph!
