The origin of sunset on Jintai

The setting sun in Jintai has always been a cultural landscape in southeast Beijing. Zhao Xi Temple is an ancient temple, and Jintai Academy is an institution of higher learning, both of which are related to Jintai Zhao Xi.

Jintai Zhao Xi, located in Miaojiadi, Guandongdian, was once a training ground for the Eight Banners and White Banners in the Qing Dynasty. Every year around the vernal equinox and autumnal equinox, for a short time after sunset, due to the high terrain of Jintai, there is still a period of time when the sun shines on this place.

This is a natural phenomenon, but once Emperor Qianlong visited here, he became suspicious when he saw this scenery. After asking about the situation, I was worried that Miao would be unfavorable to the court in geomantic omen. So I changed the Miao family's land to Huang Jintai, erected a monument on the spot, and destroyed the Miao surname Feng Shui. This is the origin of the sunset photos of Yanjing Eight Scenes Jintai.
