The Historical Evolution of Yuanxi Town

Cangxi county governs the town. 1952 established Yuanxi Town, 1958 changed the commune, 1984 re-established the township, and 1992 established the town. Located in the west of the county seat, 43 kilometers away from the county government. It covers an area of 72.8 square kilometers and has a population of 1.6 million. By highway, Jialing River waterway connects Guangyuan and Chongqing.
