The ancient history of Jingyuan Wulan Mountain
Wulan Mountain stands in the south of the county, also known as Chengnan Mountain.
There are two theories about the origin of the name of Wulan Mountain. One is that in the Tang Dynasty, Wulan County was established in Jingyuan, and the mountain got its name from this. Another theory is that a long time ago, there was a kind of red-flowered wild grass growing on Wulan Mountain. People called it Wulan grass. When it bloomed, the mountain was red. Wulan means red in Mongolian, and Jingyuan has a long history. It was once occupied by the Mongols, and Wulan Mountain was the Red Mountain.
