Where is Langzhong?

Langzhong is located in the northern part of the Sichuan Basin, in the middle reaches of the Jialing River. It is between 105°41′~106°24′ east longitude and 31°22′~31°51′ north latitude. It borders Bazhong City and Yilong County to the east, Nannan County to the south, Jiange County to the west, and Cangxi County to the north. The land area is 1878 square kilometers.

Langzhong, known as Baoning in ancient times, is a county-level city in Sichuan Province. It is located in the northeastern part of the Sichuan Basin, in the middle reaches of the Jialing River and at the southern foot of the Qinba Mountain. Mountains surround it on all sides and water surrounds it on three sides. The territory contains Langzhong Ancient Town, one of the four most well-preserved ancient towns in China. It is located next to Langzhong New Town and on the bank of the Jialing River. The architectural style of the ancient city of Langzhong reflects the ancient Chinese concept of residential Feng Shui. The ancient city has a chessboard layout and a building complex that integrates northern and southern styles, forming distinct styles such as "half-bead style", "pin" style, and "duo" style. The architectural group is a typical example of the "harmony of nature and man" in ancient Chinese city building site selection. The ancient city was built based on the astronomical Feng Shui theory of the Tang Dynasty and is known as the Feng Shui Ancient City. Langzhong is known as "Langyuan Wonderland" and "The Fortress of Bashu". Du Fu, a poet of the Tang Dynasty, left here the famous saying "Langzhou is rare in the world south of the city".
