Xu General Cemetery of General Xu Shiyou Memorial Hall

General Cemetery, Xu Shiyou, located in Xujiawa, Hepu Village, Tianpu Township, 35km southeast of Xinxian County, is a key cultural relic protection unit in Henan Province. It was founded in October, 1985. It is located on the Lailong Ridge at the foot of the Wanzi Mountain in Xujiawa, Hepu Village, Tianpu Township, Xinxian County, facing south. Xu Shiyou General Cemetery was built by Nanjing Military Region, with an internal space of 78.2 square meters. The tomb area is in the shape of a plush chair, and the part of the tomb protruding from the ground is in the shape of a dome, with a height of 2 meters and a diameter of 4.2 meters. It is made of 9 sectors and 1 round granite. In front of the tomb stands a granite tombstone with a height of 3.12 meters, a width of .8 meters and a thickness of .25 meters. This tombstone was erected by former Marshal Yang Shangkun and Marshal Xu Xiangqian of president in their private names. The inscription was written by Fan Ceng, a famous calligrapher. On the front, there are seven vigorous Chinese characters: "Tomb of Comrade Xu Shiyou". Therefore, the monument was planted by Yang Shangkun and Xu Xiangqian, so it can only be written as "the tomb of Comrade Xu Shiyou" instead of "the tomb of General Xu Shiyou". On the back of the tablet, the fine print is written in vertical lines, engraved with the brilliant military exploits of General Xu Shiyou's life. In General Cemetery, General Xu Shiyou's coffin is double-decked. The inner coffin was made of golden nanmu, which was cut from Guangxi by General You Taizhong, the former commander of the Guangzhou Military Region and a friend of the General. 1 yuan money, two pistols and two bottles of Moutai were placed in the coffin. Its moral is "money can buy roads, wine can embolden people, and guns can kill ghosts". Wine has a close relationship with General Xu Shiyou all his life, and General Xu has a special liking for Moutai all his life. The gun is the favorite thing of General Xu. One of the two guns was used by Zhang Lingfu, the adopted son of Chiang Kai-shek who was killed in the Battle of Meng Lianggu. It was originally placed in the Military Museum of the People's Liberation Army in China, and was taken out of the Military Museum with the approval of Mao Zedong and worn by General Xu Shiyou. The other pistol is a platinum gift revolver given by former French President General Charles de Gaulle. General Xu Shiyou is the first and only general who has been specially approved by the CPC Central Committee for burial since China advocated cremation.

There are many kinds of orchids, such as grass orchid, gladiolus, general orchid and so on, and general orchid grows in the mountains of General Xu Shiyou's hometown, which is one of the most vigorous orchids. Eupatorium fortunei is an evergreen perennial herb, and its bluegrass grows in the corner of the bush, with clusters of thin and long leaves, which is very drought-tolerant and developed roots. When the spring blooms, it is open to the public, and when the flowers bloom, the mountains are fragrant. Flowers are mostly purple and green, and even more surprising, flowers are red and white. The flowering period of Eupatorium adenophorum is short, usually about 15-2 days. In autumn, the roots of Eupatorium adenophorum grow a kind of small black polygonal atoms, which are covered with white powder, which can be used for disinfection and hemostasis. So far, farmers in Dabie Mountain area have used this powder to stop bleeding when they accidentally broke their fingers while working in the mountains.
