The Consulate General of China in Denpasar, Indonesia, said that all the tourists from China who were trapped in Linjani volcano due to the earthquake in Lombok, Indonesia, had been safely rescued. At present, the museum is further paying close attention to whether there are China tourists stranded in the mountainous area through abnormal passages.
According to Indonesian official statistics, up to now, the death toll caused by the earthquake has risen to 18, and more than 200 people have been seriously injured. There were no reports of casualties among China citizens.
At 6: 48 am local time on July 29th, a 6.4-magnitude earthquake struck the eastern part of Lombok, a famous tourist resort in Indonesia, followed by more than 200 aftershocks.
When the earthquake happened, more than 1000 tourists were climbing the Linjani volcano in the east of Lombok. The earthquake triggered landslides, and many downhill roads were blocked, causing the above tourists to be trapped in the mountains.
After the earthquake, the Indonesian authorities formed a temporary search and rescue team and immediately launched rescue. According to the contact between the Consulate General of China in Denpasar and the Indonesian search and rescue team ahead, as of the morning of July 3 1 0, there were 1090 climbers, including 16 tourists from China, who had been evacuated to safety.
The Consulate General of China said that it is paying close attention to whether tourists from China climb mountains through abnormal channels.
