The total area of Langxi County is 1 104.8 square kilometers, equivalent to 1657300 mu, accounting for 0.79% of the total area of Anhui Province. Low mountains account for 1 1. 15%, hills account for 46.05%, plain polder areas account for 30. 1 1%, and waters account for 12.69%. According to per capita population, per capita arable land 1.47 mu, woodland 1.62 mu, and water surface of 0.82 mu. The main minerals in langxi are fluorite, yellow sand, limestone, granite, kaolin and pyrophyllite. Fluorite reserves are 2 million tons, ranking first in East China.

The county's iron ore reserves are: Tongguan Mountain, Wugui Mountain, Niuwei Mountain and Rabbit Mountain, which are located in Gangnan, Wan Ling and taocheng town respectively. The total geological reserves of the four mining areas are about 3.5 million tons, and the iron content is 39 ~ 57%. The metallogenic types are fault filling and bottom deposition of old strata. These iron ores are associated with other ore bodies, mainly sulfur, and the rest are phosphorus, arsenic, copper, zinc and lead.
