I have some special feelings for Xuanwu Lake. When I was in high school, my geography teacher told Xuanwu Lake that it was very magical: there are basalt volcanic pumice formed after volcanic eruptions, which can float on the water. Coupled with the repeated descriptions of basalt in Jules Verne's "The Mysterious Island", I was even more impressed, but I never thought I would one day go there to see it in person.

After some driving, some asking, and some walking, we finally arrived at our destination. When I saw the sign "Xuanwu Lake Scenic Area Welcomes You", I mistakenly thought I had arrived, and was a little disappointed, because all I saw was a very ordinary park landscape: lawns, green trees, red flowers, pools, rockeries, etc. I walked along in despair. Not many people moved forward, only to realize that the place they had just passed was just an introduction to the Xuanwu Lake Scenic Area.

Arriving in front of the tall and majestic Xuanwu Gate, the most eye-catching thing is the record of tourists entering and exiting the scenic spot that day. I counted them at that time. I was afraid that I would not remember them, so I took a picture. It showed: July At 16:06 on the 5th, the total number of people entering the park: 19729, the total number of people leaving the park: 17410.

I looked carefully at the scenic tour map and found that the lake area is very large. According to the introduction, the scenic spot is diamond-shaped, with a circumference of about 10 kilometers, covering an area of ​​437 hectares, and a water surface of about 368 hectares. There are 5 islands in the lake, which divide the lake into four large areas. There are bridges or embankments connecting the islands, making it easy to visit. Mom, this free scenic spot is so vast and luxurious!

Entering from Xuanwu Gate, your eyes suddenly light up. The lake area on the left and right is very open. The weather is getting better and there is not too strong sunshine (it was still raining and foggy just now at Yuejiang Tower). From afar, at a glance, the blue lake water changes from deep to light. Nearby are stretches of lotus flowers and rows of beautiful cruise ships. The lotus leaves in the lake are green and fat, and the lotus flowers are in full bloom. In the distance are A small island shaded by green trees, and further away, a sparkling lake decorates the city background. What a gorgeous picture this is!

Cruise ships are dotted on the lake and move forward leisurely; tourists stroll on the embankment and wander on the islets, with a panoramic view of the lake and water; unique basalt can be seen everywhere, and there are patches of green space, fragrant flowers and grass, and lush greenery. The trees are shady; in the winding path leading to the quiet place, basalt stones serve as stone benches. You can sit down and rest and enjoy the lotuses. The gently swaying willow branches provide you with shade and refreshment; on the islet surrounded by flowers and plants and shaded by green trees, there are memorial halls, There are tall temple towers and unique pavilions where you can visit, worship and rest. I specially visited the memorial hall of Feng Shui master Guo Pu. Although I don’t know anything about Feng Shui, I still respect his research. I also put coins into the Bagua divination equipment in the museum to ask for a lucky hexagram. Everyone is envious, but in fact they are their own God!

Because the scenic spot is so big, I didn’t visit all the small islands, but looking across the shore, I felt the scenery was delicious, not to mention the feeling of landing, so I will leave some regrets here. Let’s dream of traveling again!

Generally speaking, in addition to the unique basalt rocks, this scenic spot has a lot of lotus flowers. The "Ten Mile Lotus" here is truly worthy of its name. The lotus flowers bloom generously and openly, not at all like the lotus flowers in Suzhou and Hangzhou. So humble and unwilling to get ahead of others. The lake is very wide, and in comparison, West Lake seems relatively small. And I think that, regardless of the cultural and historical connotations, I prefer the natural beauty of Xuanwu Lake. The creation of nature is amazing!
