Hong Kong Ocean Park

Hong Kong Ocean Park is the largest in Southeast Asia and the most representative theme park in Hong Kong. It is located in Wong Chuk Hang, Southern District of Hong Kong Island, covering an area of ​​870,000 square meters. m, opened on January 10, 1977.

Ocean Park is built on the mountain and is divided into three major scenic areas: the foot of Nanlang Mountain, the mountain and Dashuwan. It is subdivided into 8 themed areas. The lower part of the mountain is connected to Nam Long Mountain by a mountain cable car and ocean train. The connection between Nan Long Mountain and Tai Shue Wan is connected by the world's second longest outdoor escalator.

Wong Tai Sin Temple

Wong Tai Sin Temple is one of the most famous temples in Hong Kong, covering an area of ​​more than 180,000 square meters. It is said that the Wong Tai Sin enshrined in the temple responds to all requests. Legend has it that Wong Tai Sin was born in Lanxi City, Jinhua County, Zhejiang Province around 328, and later became an immortal in Hengshan.

In 1915, Taoist monk Liang Yan'an and others came to Hong Kong from Guangdong with the Wong Tai Sin elephant. After several moves, the Wong Tai Sin Temple was finally officially built in 1921. The temple was originally a private monastery and was opened to worshipers in 1956. It worships the three traditional Chinese religions of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism.

Every year at the end of the lunar calendar and from the first to the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, a large number of devotees go to Wong Tai Sin Temple to thank the gods for past years and to seek blessings from the gods for the coming year. Every year on the 23rd day of the eighth lunar month, Wong Tai Sin’s birthday is celebrated. Everyone will gather in the main hall of the temple at noon to participate in the sacrificial activities.

The Tian Tan Buddha

The Tian Tan Buddha is located on Muyu Peak in front of Po Lin Temple, located in Ngong Ping at an altitude of 520 meters. The Buddha statue sits on 268 stone steps. It is composed of 202 copper pieces and is 264 meters high. The total height including the lotus seat and the base is about 33,999 meters and weighs 250 tons. It is the largest outdoor seated bronze statue in the world.
