How long is the fishing line?

The length of fishing line is generally around 10-20 cm. When fishing small crucian carp, especially raw crucian carp, the length of the parting line can be reduced to 8- 10 cm, so that the bait can be quickly hooked to the end. When fishing for slow fish, the length of the sub-line should be extended to 10-20 cm; when fishing for slightly larger fish such as carp and bream, the length of the sub-line should be greater than 20 cm; when fishing for grass carp and herring, the length of the sub-line should be longer to avoid scaring the target fish.

The number of sub-lines used is usually less than that of the main line (that is, the Taoist system), which is generally 0.4-0.8 times that of the main line. The purpose of using the auxiliary line is to ensure the unnecessary tension and tension of the main line when hanging the bottom or catching big fish (for example, the main line 1.0, the auxiliary line can be 0.6 or less, and the fishing group will break the auxiliary line because of excessive tension to protect the main line and its accessories). The quality requirements of the branch line and the main line are different: the branch line is required to be more resistant to curling, softer, less entangled and easier to enter.

Matters needing attention

The sub-line should be thinner, and the hook of the hook should be thinner. If you want to catch a bigger carp in the polyculture pond, it should be a little longer than the crucian carp in the early stage, generally in the sub-line of 10 to 20 cm, but in the later stage, like the crucian carp, the sub-line will be a little longer, and it is recommended to be more than 20 cm.

For catching larger target fish such as grass carp and herring, the length of the sub-line can be longer, with sub-lines of 30 cm, 50 cm or even 80 cm. In some black pits, anglers will choose longer sub-lines, commonly known as rogue lines, to catch farther. The specific sub-line length needs to be selected and judged according to the situation of the target fish and fish.
