Where is the Qinglong Cave Scenic Area?
Qinglong Cave in Zhenyuan is one of the few examples of the integration of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism in China. 1988 is listed as a national key cultural relics protection unit.
Qinglongdong ancient building complex is located in Zhonghe Mountain in the east of Zhenyuan. The mountains here are tall and straight, and the cliffs are steep. Huge rocks, caves and harmony blend together. The temples of Taoism, Confucianism and Buddhism were all born on the mountainside, which is a model for the harmonious development of different religions in China. Backed by the green hills, facing the green water, facing the wall, five steps on the first floor, ten steps and one pavilion, carved beams and painted buildings on the eaves.
These ancient buildings depend on the mountains and the ground, and various techniques such as hanging, borrowing, attaching, embedding and building have been adopted to build an attic cave on the cliffs, such as Zhongyuan Cave, Ziyang Cave, Qinglong Cave and Wanshou Palace. It is magnificent, bold in conception and exquisite in layout.
Development history of Qinglong cave
According to historical records, in the Hongwu period of the Ming Dynasty more than 600 years ago, this place has formed a scale equivalent to the existing buildings. "Ming Taizu Huang Xiyu built it, and the Ministry of Industry Langzhong Zhao Xuzhi bought Tibetan scriptures and built a building for storage." During the Jiajing period of the Qing Dynasty, there were not only a large number of temples, but also palaces and academies, which were later rebuilt and expanded. In Gan Yong, there are commercial hall buildings and theaters, such as Wanshou Palace. In the fourth year of Guangxu, the Zhuangyuan Building (also known as Kuixing Building) on Zhu Sheng Bridge was built.
During the period of 1956~ 1963, the provincial and state governments allocated special funds to organize special personnel to carry out two repairs on the Qinglong Cave complex, and then carried out a number of repairs on the Zhongyuan Cave. Since 1983, the provincial government has allocated huge sums of money to comprehensively rescue and repair groups of ancient buildings such as Qinglong Cave, Ziyang Cave, Wanshou Palace and Xiangluyan, and the ancient buildings in Qinglong Cave have been restored to their original appearance. This architectural attraction, like the bright starry sky, is usually summarized as Qinglong Cave, which has become a place for tourists to linger in the past and something admired by literati.
