How to tell the difference between male and female Lutino Cockatiels
Adult birds: The method of distinguishing male and female cockatiels is also very simple. Just open the wings and take a look. The female cockatiels have yellow spots on the inside of the main flight feathers, but the male birds do not.

Life habits
Food: Wild black phoenixes mainly eat grains, as well as different types of shrubs, weeds, trees, grass berries and seeds. Pet black phoenixes mainly eat mixed seed food, but also mixed food, millet, pellet feed, fresh vegetables and fruits that canaries and budgerigars like, and may have some additional nutritional needs.
Minimum size of the cage: area 0,75 m2, shortest side 55 cm, height 80 cm (larger space is of course better)
Personality and temperament: if you are looking for A pet bird that's crazy enough to make you crawl into cracks in the ground, you might consider adding the cockatiel to your list. These birds are so playful that they like to do things you want them to do to get your attention.
Cockatiels are the first parrots that can be playmates with long-tailed parrots such as budgies. A tamed hand feeding a cockatiel is very cute and gentle. They don't have as many requirements as other parrots, but you still need to be careful and spend some time to get them tame.
Speech ability: Female cockatiels do not have the ability to master a large vocabulary. In fact, many female black phoenixes never plan to learn to speak. Some male cockatiels are reported to have large vocabularies, but their vocalizations are not really clear to everyone.
If you want a parrot companion with a larger vocabulary, choose another bird. Personally, I don't think this is that important when choosing a parrot. Unless you purchase a parrot that already speaks a lot of words, you won't have any guarantees as to when it will speak.
Noise level: Cockatiels are relatively quiet birds compared to many other parrots. It is an expected fact that all birds chirp when they are excited. Many people believe that females are noisier than males, but not higher in pitch. Cockatiels are recognized as excellent apartment companions, but of course, the more you have, the louder the noise will be!
Color varieties
Currently, there are only three varieties of cockatiel parrots raised in China: gray, floral and white (there are some hybrid varieties)
1. The gray cockatiel's body feathers are blue-gray, its head has light yellow crest feathers, its beak is black and gray, its top of the head, forehead, lower body and throat are all light yellow, its cheeks have orange round patches, its upper body and chest The belly is blue-gray, the outer coverts of both wings are white (some also have white patches on the back and wings), the tail feathers are black-gray, and the central tail feathers are particularly long. The legs are dark gray.
2. The Pied Cockatiel has bluish-gray body feathers and yellow patches all over its body. Others resemble gray cockatiels.
3. The white cockatiel has white body feathers, a light yellow crest on its head, and an ivory white beak. The head, cheeks, lower jaw and upper throat are all light yellow, with orange round patches on the cheeks. The feet are flesh pink.
Species Characteristics
The feathers of Xuanfeng are generally medium gray, with lighter color on the lower part of the body, orange cheeks, and large white feather spots on the wings. Female cockatiels have a row of yellow dots under their wings, but males lack this feature. Some other species of mutations exist, such as the Lutino phoenix, which has pale yellow feathers. Female Lutino phoenixes also have spotted tail feathers. Both males and females have yellow facial feathers: female cockatiels have yellow fur around their beak and eyes, while male cockatiels have yellow feathers on most of their heads and on the front of their crests. The ability of male cockatiels to protect and nurse their offspring is very strong among known birds. If the female bird is unable to nurse her offspring for some reason, the male bird will be responsible for raising the chicks.
