I live in Wafangdian. I have never been to Pulandian, I just passed by it, so I can’t comment on it. Let me just talk about Wafangdian.
Wafangdian is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Dalian City.
In terms of climate, it is not very close to the sea. It is a bit drier than the seaside, but the overall climate is still maritime. There is no severe cold in winter and no scorching heat in summer (official words). It also inherits the overall style of Dalian City, with strong wind, haha.
Air, there are no air-polluting factories in Wafangdian "city". In recent years, factories have moved to suburban towns. Regarding the health situation, Wafangdian is a national health city and an environmental model city. Although it is not as advertised, I feel that my hometown has changed a lot in recent years and has really become brighter.
It goes without saying that the consumption level of Dawa (Dalian Wafangdian) is no longer the same as that of Dalian urban area. Although there is no difference in magnitude, it is much lower than the consumption level in Dalian. Housing prices are also relatively reasonable. In recent years, they may have followed the trend of soaring housing prices in Dalian, which has been a little longer. The level of shopping and dining places is similar to that of ordinary places in Dalian. It does not rule out that there are "sky-high" prices. As an ordinary citizen, it is still relatively reasonable.
Traffic, first of all, traffic jams are not very common. The transportation is relatively convenient. Public buses are available throughout the entire urban area of Dawa, and there are also buses to nearby towns.
Wafangdian’s bus company is a branch of Dalian Bus Company. In recent years, it has been continuously improving, adding routes and increasing the number of buses. With the train station as the hub, it travels throughout the city. Taxi and meter prices start at 8.00 yuan/within three kilometers.
The West Exit Bus Station is located in the Mongkok Business Center, to the west of the Watts Municipal Government, and leads to surrounding towns and villages, making it convenient to travel throughout the day.
The railway station is a secondary station and a relatively important transportation transfer station in Dalian. Generally speaking, ordinary cars stop here.
Wafangdian Bus Station (long-distance), within Dalian (Zhuanghe, Pulandian, Jinzhou, Development Zone, Dalian, Lushun), long-distance (inside and outside Liaoning Province), very convenient.
High-speed rail: It will be launched in 2012. There is Wafangdian West Station in Wafangdian. It only takes 15-20 minutes from Wafangdian to Dalian city, or even less. It sounds very cool, haha.
For shopping, the large supermarkets in Wafangdian include Changxing Shopping Plaza and Dashang New Mart (three) located in different residential centers. Daily necessities shopping malls: Dalian Changxin (formerly Ji Mao Building), New Commercial City (diagonally opposite Ji Mao), New Century Commercial Building, Dawei Commercial Building, etc. And Wafangdian has an underground shopping plaza, boutiques, snacks and gourmet food. For fitness walks, there are Dongshan Park, Xishan Park, Beishan Park, etc. The perfect mountain ring road with a suitable mountain height is suitable for citizens to do morning fitness exercises.
