What plants are there in Liwan Lake?

Through the comprehensive upgrading of the "green and turbid" Liwan Lake in the past, "algae-eating insects control algae to guide the ecological restoration of the water body", a * * life system of "algae-eating insects+naturally preferred submerged plants+floating plants+benthic organisms+fish and shrimp+naturally activated microbial communities" was constructed, and submerged plants were restored by controlling algae and fish-eating insects, so as to give full play to the nutritional components of submerged plants and form a food chain. The ecological status of the water body has also changed from the previous "green" algae-type turbid and eutrophic water body to an ecologically healthy, dynamic and breathing "grass-type clear water lake".

There are some aquatic plants in Liwan Lake.

First, submerged plants

1, evergreen dwarf Sophora alopecuroides

It is one of the core contents of ecological restoration of eutrophic water, and it is the key species to realize the transformation from turbid to clear. Dwarf Sophora alopecuroides can effectively remove total nitrogen, total phosphorus, ammonia nitrogen and chemical oxygen demand from sewage, and has a good purification effect on eutrophic water. In addition, the leaves of Sophora alopecuroides are alkaline, the plant shape is neat, and it is not easy to spread and grow out of the water, so it is suitable for building underwater lawn landscape.

2. Elodea sp

Elodea nuttallii can purify water and prevent eutrophication. Elodea nuttallii can not only release a lot of oxygen in photosynthesis, but also absorb a lot of harmful ammonia nitrogen, carbon dioxide, residual lost food and some organic decomposition products in water. These functions are of great significance for stabilizing pH value, keeping water neutral and alkaline, increasing water transparency, promoting molting, improving feed utilization rate and improving quality. It has high enrichment ability for heavy metals such as cadmium and mercury.
