Longyou Grottoes were discovered by local farmers in 1992. At that time, it was still a "bottomless pond". Some people think that this is a quarry, a group of tombs, and a post station for the revenge of the King of Yue. Others think it is a repository, a Taoist paradise and an underground pyramid. Some people even think that this is the base of UFOs. There were different opinions for a while, but so far this unsolved mystery has not been solved.

At present, Longyou Grottoes has become a national 4A-level tourist attraction, and has been protected by certain measures. It may even apply for the idea of "World Cultural Heritage" in the future. Speaking of humanities, a group of patterns were also found on the stone wall of Cave 1, which is the only grotto with stone wall patterns among many grottoes.
