Is Ryan one of the four famous geomantic places in China?
Ruian is a county-level city managed by Wenzhou City, Zhejiang Province, China, which is located in the middle of the golden coastline of China, between the Shanghai Economic Zone and the Xiamen Golden Triangle, and belongs to the land of plenty in the south of the Yangtze River. Guo Moruo once wrote an inscription for Yuhailou, "Peach Blossom and Plum Blossom Tide".
Influenced by the Neocathaysian tectonic movement, the Feiyun River in the upper reaches is steep, and the valleys are mostly developed in the northeast and northwest. Under the influence of lithology and structure, small mountain basins are often formed. Feiyunjiang River is a plain river in the lower reaches, with scattered water flow, many sandbars and extremely unstable riverbed, which often forms meanders due to erosion and siltation, especially between Xianjiang and Tongpu. The coastline is tortuous, mostly muddy sea.
Ruian is located in Wenzhou-Shantou typhoon area, with many typhoons in summer. [16] 1994 Typhoon 17 landed in Meitou (now Haicheng Street, Longwan) and Wang Yang, causing huge losses.
Ryan is known as the "hometown of drums". Wenzhou drum ci originated in Rui 'an and has been popular since the Qing Dynasty. In 2006, it was selected into the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list. In addition to drum lyrics, there are also tanci, lotus flowers, Taoist feelings, ancient paintings, and knots. Vocal music has its own characteristics, influenced by drum words, and it is a local folk art variety.
Famous painters in Ming and Qing Dynasties include Ren Daoxun's landscape regular script, Sun Long's father and daughter plum blossom, and Jiang Ligang's regular script characters, all of which are well-known overseas. Lin Zhuanxian's calligraphy and painting, Sun's Liu and Sun Yize's seal script, Yang Shaoqian and other calligraphers are famous all over the country.
Rattan Dance is a traditional program of Ryan, which is said to be made in memory of the famous anti-Japanese Qi Jiguang. The content of the dance shows the fighting, arrangement, camp theft, night fighting and celebration in the army, which not only shows the heroic spirit of the soldiers in resisting Japan and saving the country, but also reflects the local characteristics of Rui 'an, and is listed as the first batch of intangible cultural heritage protection list in Zhejiang Province. Also known as "rattan card array", it is popular in Han dances in Zhejiang and Fujian.
