The history of salt

Ancient humans took salt from other foods and began to eat salt in ancient times.

In ancient times (such as the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period or earlier), the ancients dried seawater, purified it naturally, or drilled brine wells to make salt.

During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, the salt-making base in China was Qi.

There is a legend below, hehe, an ancient legend.

The origin of salt

Legend has it that when there is a fire on earth, people can eat cooked food slowly, but it is still tasteless and hairy.

The emperor, the Yellow Emperor and Ren Huang discussed it and went to see the Jade Emperor, asking him to get something salty for the world.

The Jade Emperor said to Ren Huang, "Go to the Queen Mother's Peony Garden, where there is a magical soil called clay.

This kind of soil grows into a big one when it meets water, which is bitter, spicy, sweet, sour and salty.

If you get it on the earth, the soil will be strong, crops will grow, and people will definitely lose their hair if they eat it.

"

Ren Huang went to the Peony Garden and asked the Queen Mother for a large piece of clay.

The Queen Mother gave him five immortals to help Ren Huang transport back to land.

How to transport it back? Approach from the water.

So they made a big raft out of branches, found a big mill, moved it to the raft, and put people and soil on it.

As they walked along, Ren Huang took them to grind clay. One day, there was a strong wind, and the wind blew harder and harder. A big wave came and knocked over the raft, and the clay and the mill fell into the sea.

Strange to say, the plate was ground to the bottom of the sea, but it was still ground assiduously. The soil on the ground is completely dissolved in water, and the sea water becomes salty.

People on both sides of the coast eat seawater, and after a long time, their hair disappears.

People there found that after the sea ebbed, they left a layer of white objects, picked them up and licked them with their tongues. They are salty.

People take it at home and put some on it when cooking, which is more palatable.

People named this white object salt.

Later, the salt spread farther and farther, and the whole world ate it, and the hair on people was gone.

Salt is produced in the sea, and people like to eat salt, which has been passed down until now.
