How did Pulsatilla get its name?
2. It is said that when Du Fu, a poet in the Tang Dynasty, was trapped in the capital, his life was extremely difficult, and he often said, "The broken cup is not in harmony with the cold, and he is full of sadness everywhere." One morning, Du Fu drank a bowl of leftover porridge from two days ago, and soon vomited, with unbearable abdominal pain. But he lives in a hut, penniless, and has no money to seek medical advice.
3. At this moment, an old man with white hair happened to pass by his house. Seeing this scene, he was very sympathetic to Du Fu. After asking about his illness, he said, "Wait a moment, wait for the old lady to collect medicine for you." Not long after, the white-haired old man picked a handful of weeds with white fur and decocted them for Du Fu to take. After Du Fu took it, the pain slowly disappeared and he recovered in a few days. Because "no one asks for self-pity, pity is a Chinese Pulsatilla", Du Fu named the grass "Chinese Pulsatilla" to express his gratitude to the white-haired old man.
