Water lily likes sunshine and good ventilation, so tropical and cold-resistant water lilies that bloom during the day will close their flowers at night and open again in the morning. Although ponds with shade trees on the shore can bloom, their growth is weak. The soil quality requirements are not strict, and the pH value is 6~8, so it can grow normally. The optimal water depth is 25~30cm, and the deepest depth should not exceed 80cm. Prefers loamy soil rich in organic matter. Leaves sprout from March to April, and bloom one after another from May to August. Each flower blooms for 2 to 5 days. Fruits after flowering. Stems and leaves wither from October to November. It sprouted again the following spring. In the Yangtze River Basin, it germinates from late March to early April, and buds occur in late April or early May. The flowering period is from June to August, the yellow leaf stage is from October to November, and it enters the dormant period after November. It grows in swamps and lakes, and is often cultivated in pools in some parks.
