How are autumn and winter radishes classified?
Radish varieties in autumn and winter can be divided into two categories according to leaf type: plate leaf and split leaf. The representative varieties of leaf type are Beijing Dahongpao, Shijiazhuang White Radish, Guangdong Locomotive, Beijing Xinmei and Jinan Peijiaying Xiao Ye. The representative varieties with split leaves are Wei Xianqing, Wei Qing, Zhejiang Dachang, Yinan Carrot, Jinan Xinmeimei and Luba Powder.
In the production and market supply of radish, the skin color and shape of its fleshy roots are extremely important horticultural traits. The demand for radish varieties with different skin colors and shapes is closely related to local consumption habits and different requirements for edible quality. According to the different skin color and root shape of radish varieties in autumn and winter, it can be divided into:
1. Red skin variety type
(1) spherical or oblate fleshy root with red or pink peel and purplish red pulp. Representative varieties are: Wang, Jilin Mopan, Liaoyang Dahongpao, Nongdahong, Tianjin Red Lantern, Jining Dahongpao, Wudu Carrot, Jiangyou Red Lantern and so on.
(2) Oval or spindle-shaped fleshy roots are oval or spindle-shaped, with red or pink skin and white meat. Representative varieties are: Xiang Yanghong, Xiayi Dahongpao, Suxian Dahongpao, Wuhe Carrot, Xuzhou Dahongpao, Xinzhahong, Ji 'an Rouge Radish and Fuzhou Furong Radish.

Representative varieties are: Nanjing Chuanxinhong, Ankang Dahongpao, Linxian Purple Radish, Linxia Winter Radish, Taihu Early Radish, Tibetan Radish, etc.
2. Types of green leather varieties
(1) The spherical or oblate fleshy root is spherical or oblate, the unearthed epidermis is green or light green, the buried epidermis is white or yellowish white, and the fleshy meat is light green or white green. Representative varieties are: Linxi Green Peel Crispy, Fuyang Liansi Radish, Xintai Qingzhi Root, Chengdu Chunbulao, Leshan Black Leaf Round Root, Minqin White Round Egg, etc.
(2) The short cylindrical or ovoid fleshy roots are short cylindrical, some varieties are ovoid, the unearthed skins are mostly dark green or green, some varieties are light green or yellowish green, the fleshy roots are mostly yellowish white or white, and the meat is light green or white green. Representative varieties are: Shijiazhuang Qitongbai, Han Shi 1, Hejin Niujiaobai, Taiyuan Tongshenbai, Changshu Middle-term White Radish, Xiangshan Huangni Radish, Haining Fengchang Radish, Fuling Zhongba Radish, Ningbo 60-day Leaf Radish, Time Leaf Radish, Xinfeng Long Radish and so on.
(4) Long cylindrical fleshy roots are long cylindrical with white skin and white meat. Representative varieties are: Shijiazhuang White Radish, Dandong Ivory White, Hebei Sanchibai, Linqing Niucha, Huimin Eight-inch White, Yuepu Late Changbai Radish, Shanghai 60-day Radish, Taihu Early Radish, Zhejiang Dachang, Daxie Radish, Locomotive Radish, etc.
