Why are there saints in front of Sophia Church? Is there any reason? ? Or is it called Hagia Sophia? 、
Sophia (Sofia)
Originated from Greek (meaning "wisdom"), it is a philosophical concept related to knowledge, mastery, skill and strategy. The ancient Greeks believed that true wisdom only belonged to God, and only by striving to acquire wisdom could mortals become "philosophers"-this view seems to have originated from Pythagoras. In the later Gnosticism (Gnosticism had its roots earlier than Christianity, and Judaism and Gnosticism had their own "heresy", which was active in the 2nd century AD), Sophia was regarded as a person and a symbolic god; In Christianity, like the wisdom of God, human wisdom is only a symbolic reflection of God.
Among the legends of Christian saints, there is the legend of Saint Sophia in Latin. Sophia is the mother of three theological virtues (namely, three virtues to God: faith, hope and love). It is said that these three sons were killed by the ancient Roman emperor Hadrian (A.D.117-165438+).
