After the primary election was successful, Lenovo designers Zhou Lan, Zhang Jun and Shi Xiaoyan formed a design adjustment team. According to BOCOG's feedback, they made an overall scale analysis, overall modeling adjustment and modeling, red optimization and usability improvement for the "Xiangyun" Olympic torch.
Zhou Lan painstakingly painted the moire pattern in the first half of the torch "Xiangyun" of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games in red, which best reflected the characteristics of Chinese civilization. During that time, she not only carefully studied the color effects of lacquerware in different periods collected by Lenovo Innovation Design Center, but also frequently traveled to and from lacquerware antique markets all over Beijing, and went to the library to read a large number of pictures of ancient lacquerware, in order to find the best feeling of traditional lacquer red in China. With this feeling, Zhou Lan began to adjust the color swatch. After each swatch is adjusted, she will compare the visual effects of swatches in different scenes and different lights. In order to find out the nuances of different color swatches, Zhou Lan compared them with each other and pondered them repeatedly. There are many things to do, and three rounds 18 samples have been prepared. Zhou Lan finally brings out the lacquer red effect full of China flavor. Zhou Lan also suggested spraying red rubber paint on the torchbearer's grip, which not only increased the torchbearer's touch when using it, but also made the final Xiangyun torch full of exquisite and pleasant feeling of oriental culture.

Qiu Jiayu, the director of design strategy, participated in the discussion of the design adjustment sub-team many times, simulated the presentation effect of different proportions with paper rolls, and repeatedly solicited opinions. In the end, the team also made the golden ratio and the up-and-down ratio 1: 1 with aluminum, which was repeatedly scrutinized. Everyone thinks that the ratio of up to down is more in line with the distinctive cultural characteristics of China embodied by the torch Xiangyun of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
