Impression of Yancheng—Micro City

In my impression, Yancheng is a city with a long history. It is named after its salt production. It is the largest prefecture-level city in Jiangsu Province and has the reputation of "Oriental Wetland Capital" and "Love City". The famous red-crowned crane migrates from Siberia to overwinter every winter. It is also the home of the Chinese elk, the "Four Different Elks". The wetlands at the junction of land and sea provide a good habitat for the creatures. When I walked into this city, what struck me was the fashionable concept of "micro-city".

"Weibo", "WeChat", "Micro Classes", "Micro Movies", etc. have penetrated deeply into our lives. This is the first time I have come into contact with "Micro City". Society is developing so fast, now is the "micro era".

What is a "micro city"?

In the past urban construction, living areas and work areas were often separated, resulting in the pendulum-like migration of urban people every day, which was a great waste of social resources. In 2008, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development proposed the development concept of industry-city integration and job-housing balance, requiring that the coordination problem of urban living and work should be solved within a 10-minute walk.

With the development of smart cities in China, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development strives to find demonstration models of innovative development to make the distribution of urban space resources more reasonable. In 2013, drawing on the research results of MIT, a world-renowned university in the United States, and successful cases of urban planning and development, it was proposed to launch a pilot project for the construction of "micro-cities" in the country.

"Micro city" is a comprehensive innovation and upgrade of smart cities, advocating people-oriented and paying attention to people's modern urban development sentiments. It emphasizes the sustainable development of cities and the transformation needs of cities, is based on the actual urban construction, and integrates modern urban development. With resources, it is a new model of urban development that conforms to the national concept of new towns. "Micro cities" take a 10-minute walking distance (i.e. 1 kilometer) as a radius, covering 3 to 4 square kilometers, and strive to achieve 80% of the People live and work nearby.

"Micro cities" realize the organic integration of various functional spaces in the city by establishing a balanced development system of green travel, functional compounding and spatial concentration, and use intelligent means to manage living, employment, and transportation in the "micro cities" , cultural, recreational, commercial and other functions are comprehensively integrated, allowing residents to experience one-stop services such as work, life, entertainment, consumption, etc., forming a microcirculation of urban functions such as people flow, logistics, information flow, traffic flow, and capital flow.

So, under this design concept, in May 2014, Chengnan New District and the China Urban Science Research Society of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and other departments formally signed a contract in Yancheng to jointly promote the "micro city" pilot . As a result, Chengnan New District officially launched the first "micro-city" pilot construction in China.

The Chengnan New District is a "micro-city" pilot, with a planned layout of "one large and two small". "One big" refers to the micro city of Julong Lake. The "two small" are Xinlong Plaza and Smart Valley Micro City.

Julong Lakeside is the location of Yancheng’s administrative center, cultural center, and commercial center. It has a beautiful ecological environment and gathers high-end business offices, leisure and entertainment, living residences, high-quality infrastructure and public resources, forming a The powerful Julong Lake core circle effect.

Create a "micro-city" development model in the 4 square kilometers surrounding Julong Lake, create a national "micro-city" development model, and provide exchanges and references for the sustainable development of cities across the country. Xinlong Plaza E-commerce Industrial Park and Smart Valley are important carriers for the development of smart industries in Yancheng. They bring together major smart industry projects in the urban area, and the "two small" micro-city projects are carried out simultaneously.

In this golden autumn season, I walked into Julong Lake Micro City.

I discovered Julong Lake Micro City by accident. On the way to the Yancheng Museum, I met a family of three who were on vacation. After chatting with them, I learned that the night view of Julong Lake is very beautiful and they often go there. "Julong Lake" left a mark in my mind.

Walking on the road in Yancheng Chengnan New District, I feel the freshness. Camphor trees and locust trees are the main street trees. The fruits of the Luan tree fell with the wind and were scattered on the lawn beside the sidewalk, like butterflies fluttering towards the meadow. The Luan trees here are fresher and brighter than the Luan trees in the north, as if they have just been washed. Although Yancheng is far away from the coastline, the air is still filled with the smell of the sea, which is salty and fresh, brought by the wind. I love the smell, it brings back memories.

Another characteristic vegetation in Yancheng is pampas grass. The first time I saw it was in the green space of the square in front of the city hall. A bunch of pampas grass stood in the middle of the grass, and the white catkins on the branches were swaying in the wind.

"Jianjia is green,

white dew is frost,

there is a beautiful woman,

on the side of the water."

< p> This scene reappears in front of the Third People's Hospital of Yancheng City and in Julong Lake Park. It seems that pampas grass is a characteristic of Yancheng.

The Third People's Hospital of Yancheng City is an affiliated hospital of Southeast University. It is located at the northwest corner of Xindu Road and Jiefang South Road. The brand-new outpatient building has many floor-to-ceiling glass windows, glowing with glittering light. The clump of pampas grass stands at the entrance of the hospital, its tidbits swaying in the wind, seeming to soothe the anxious hearts of the patients. Occasionally someone comes out of the hospital. I couldn't help but want to see it. The outpatient hall on the first floor is spacious and bright, and there are not many people at the registration and payment desks, unlike the crowded hospitals in Xi'an. I asked the staff at the information desk and they told me that it was a holiday and there were fewer people. Even on weekdays, there were not many people. Indeed, such a density of medical visits is quite appropriate, so that doctors can concentrate on treating patients carefully.

When I came out of the hospital, I saw a two-story European-style building across the road. The whole building was beige. There was a circular dome on the top of the main building, and there were eighteenth-century sculptures in front of it. There are auxiliary buildings on both sides of the main building, with steps leading into the building. There are several cars parked in the wide space in front of the building. From a distance, it looks like a palace. When you get closer, it turns out to be Bihua Manor, an elegant and luxurious hotel. The hotel's lawn is as smooth as a carpet and full of green grass. When you stay in this hotel, you will feel like an aristocrat.

Bypassing the hotel to Jiefang South Road, the Yancheng City Museum is nearby. Golden Eagle Shopping Center is located at the southeast corner of the intersection of Jiefang South Road and Xindu Road. This is the main shopping mall in Chengnan New District, with supermarkets and restaurants on the basement floor. The 1st to 6th floors are shopping malls. There is also a Golden Eagle Shopping Center in the old town of Yancheng, which is larger than this one.

Behind Golden Eagle Shopping Center is Julong Lake Park. The sidewalk surrounding the park is a brand-new plastic track, which feels great on your feet.

The small river flows around the park. The weeping willows by the river are thick and appear to be many years old. The willow silk is fluttering in the wind, like the long hair of a beautiful woman.

The surface of the river is covered with aquatic plants. Although it is extremely dense, there is no unpleasant smell of algae blooms at all, and the water is extremely clear. This scene reminds me of Xu Zhimo's "Farewell to Cambridge"

...

The green cattails on the soft mud, swaying oilily under the water;

In the soft waves of the Cam River

I am willing to be a waterweed!

The pool under the shade of elm trees,

is not a clear spring, but a rainbow in the sky

Crushed among the floating algae

Precipitated rainbow Like a dream.

...

The water plants in this small river are as arrogant as those in the Cam River. How come the willows on the shore and the grass under the water are so lush?

There are many small rivers like this in Yancheng. I don’t know its name, but it should be a tributary of the Chuanchang River. The newly built city hall is also surrounded by small rivers, like a jade belt around the waist. I have seen the layout of some ancient official residences, city walls, and courtyards. The elegant ones often have clear rivers flowing slowly through them. It is said that this is a good Feng Shui layout. The scenery is beautiful, the water is fertile, and everything is moving. It is naturally good Feng Shui.

Cross the small bridge and enter Julong Lake Park. This is an open park, separated from the street by a small river. There are one or two teahouses beside the winding path, with green bamboos sticking out against the walls. The main body of the park is Julong Lake, with trestles stretching from one bank of the lake to the other. The lake surface is sparkling. A small wooden boat was docked on the shore. The boat was filled with aquatic plants picked up from the lake, including black algae and hornwort... These are excellent materials for students to do experiments on observing chloroplasts. I really want to take some back.

Looking at Julong Lake, you can have a panoramic view of modern buildings of various shapes surrounding it. The radio and television tower points to the blue sky like a rocket ready to go. This is the landmark of Yancheng. The gray-blue shell is shiny and seems to absorb the light from the sky.

The Yancheng City Song and Dance Theater and the TV Tower are located next to each other, like a huge cylindrical crown. The windows on each floor are arranged in a checkerboard pattern, like the pattern on the crown.

The Yancheng Science and Technology Museum is located to the north of Julong Lake. Xindu Road passes in front of the museum. The museum is cylindrical and hidden among the greenery.

The Yandu Taxation Bureau in Yancheng City is also nearby. Its architectural shape is also very beautiful in geometric shape.

To the east of Julong Lake, there are many new commercial and residential buildings, and there are rows of beige high-rise buildings. The European Style Street is right next to the property.

Standing on the trestle in the lake and looking around, you can see the Golden Eagle Shopping Center, TV Tower, Opera House, Taxation Bureau, Science and Technology Museum, commercial and residential buildings... These modern buildings seem to be floating on the sparkling scales. On the water, their reflections fall in the water, and it really feels like being in modern Venice.

There are some fountain launch points in the lake. After nightfall, they will release beautiful water mist. I heard that the night view of Julong Lake is more beautiful and attractive. I must come and take a look next time I come.

Walking through the trestle and arriving at the lakeside, wide lotus leaves stood in scattered patterns in the water. Some lotus leaves had turned yellow, and calamus and other plants also grew from the surrounding wetlands. Walking into the lakeside Wetland, feel the transition zone between water and land, and see the changes in vegetation from aquatic to terrestrial. The weeping willows on the lakeside are swaying. From this green, you can see the tall buildings in the distance, and the buildings will be enveloped in this green.

Walking on the path around the lake, you will see weeping willows and you will meet some small flowers from time to time. I saw coreopsis again, and a distant scene appeared before my eyes. When I was in college, the Baguan Mountain on campus was covered with coreopsis. Its flowering period is very long, and the yellow flowers bloom continuously from late spring to late autumn. The girls in our dormitory often pick them and put them in bottles, or weave them into garlands and hang them on the bedside. Every time I see coreopsis, I seem to see Fan, wearing a white shirt and a green suspender skirt, with long flowing hair flying lightly, walking towards me from the depths of the flower path, and his youthful laughter spreads in this sea of flowers... In Singapore, far away now, other girls from 119 are also around the world and across the country, and I am in Yancheng at the moment. I think of Baguan Mountain and the girls of 119... Indeed, human consciousness can travel through time and space. Through the tunnel, we can see the people we want to see, the scenery and things we like...

Pavarotti's singing came from outside the lake, and we followed the sound out of the park. The music came from the European style street. of. During the National Day, this is the busiest place in Chengnan New District.

European Style Street is the latest attraction in Yancheng City. A small river runs through the street, and this small river is also a tributary of the Chuanchang River. The fence by the river is covered with pink azalea bonsais. There are a few boats moored on the clear river. Fountains shoot out from under the water and overflow all around, just like flowers blooming underwater. The flowers are fragrant and the shadows of the flowers are flowing in the winding river. ...

In front of a bar, a singer playing guitar attracts tourists. Foreign tourists are taking photos with the singer, immersed in the cheerful melody. The black tourist is strong and confident, and his braided hair beats to the music. I don’t know where they came from, but the customs here made them novel and happy, and this happiness spread into the market...

The next morning, in the drizzle, I came to Yandu Park. The park is small and small. The vegetation is dense, and there is also a small river running through the center of the park. The shadows of the surrounding new residential high-rise buildings are projected on the river. On the plastic paths, people occasionally run by for morning exercises. Everything is fresh and quiet. The park also has WiFi coverage. Passing through Yandu Park, opposite is the Yancheng Botanical Garden. Along the plastic path, there is a pond in the depths. Lotus leaves stand upright on one side of the pond, and other emergent plants also cling to the edge of the pond. Compared with botanical gardens in other cities, it has yet to be developed. There are high-rise residential buildings around the park, and residents can walk here and be there in just a few minutes.

I walked in the "micro city" of Julong Lake, visited the Yancheng Museum, observed the Third People's Hospital of Yancheng City, visited the shopping mall, visited Julong Lake Park, strolled in the European style street, and took in the beautiful scenery. Walking in the botanical garden in the rain...experienced the life of a "micro city". Indeed, people in "micro cities" work, shop, live, relax, culture, and entertain in a tiny area, which is compact and not blocked. BRT, buses, and bicycles shuttle in an orderly manner, and the flow of people, logistics, information, etc. Circling. Microcirculation is the root of macrocirculation. When the roots of every city are activated, it becomes a living city. The ancient Yancheng has experienced the changes of the times, and now it has entered the "micro-city" era. I believe it will become more and more vibrant!
