A Dream of Red Mansions: The Judgments of Lin Daiyu and Xue Baochai
What is the verdict of Lin Daiyu and Xue Baochai?
There are two dead trees, a jade belt hanging on the wood, and a pile of snow, and a golden hairpin is falling under the snow. There are four words, say:
It's a pity to stop working, but it's a pity to praise talents.
The jade belt hangs in the forest and is buried in the snow.
Interpreting Xue Baochai's judgment;
This song is about Lin Daiyu and Xue Baochai.
1. It's a pity to stop the machine-this sentence refers to Xue Baochai, which means that Baochai has a noble character that Cao Xueqin admires. "Stop", from "The History of the Later Han Dynasty, Biography of Women, Le Yangzi's Wife". The story says: Le Yangzi went far away to find a teacher to study, and it took him a year to go home because he was homesick. His wife took a knife and cut silk on the loom, in order to compare the interruption of his studies and persuade him not to give up halfway. Baochai often advised Baoyu to study hard, gain fame and strive for progress.
2. Praise the poor talent-this sentence refers to Lin Daiyu, which means that such a talented woman deserves sympathy for her fate. Xu Cai uses the story of Xie Daowen in the Jin Dynasty: once, it snowed heavily, and Xie Daowen's uncle Xie An said to Yin Xue, "What is the snow like?" Daoyun's brother Xie Lang replied, "The difference between sprinkling salt and air can be done." Xie Daowen went on to say, "If the catkins were not due to the wind." Xie An a listen to greatly appreciated. See Shi Shuo Xin Yu.
3. There is a jade belt hanging in the forest-this sentence refers to Lin Daiyu, and the first three words are pronounced backwards for homophonic names. Judging from the "two dead trees" painted in the book (double "wood" is "forest") and a "jade belt" hanging on the wood, it is said that Lin Daiyu literally hanged herself. There were other expeditions, and they died in the lake.
4. Jin Chai buries snow-this sentence is about Xue Baochai. "Golden Snow" has a dark name. Snow, harmonious Xue, secretly wrote Baochai's understanding of "the ground is so clean when it is white", and Baochai's realm of "fragrance can be cold, and everything in the world can't be cold". Jin Chai means that Baochai is two strands in the end, and Baochai is one strand, that is, Baochai dies alone in the end.
Brief introduction of Lin Daiyu
Lin Daiyu, the heroine of China's classic Dream of Red Mansions, is the first of the twelve women in Jinling. She was reincarnated as the crimson pearl fairy grass beside Xiling River, the only daughter of Jia Min, the fourth daughter of Fu Rong and Lin Ruhai, the granddaughter of Jia Baoyu, Jia Baoyu's menstruation cousin, lover and confidant. Jia Fu is called Miss Lin. She is born with beauty and outstanding poetic talent, and is the most aura-rich classic female image in world literature. (fortune telling)
Lin Daiyu was smart and comely since childhood, and her parents regarded her as a treasure.
I went to school at the age of 5, and my mother died young at the age of 6.7. Jia loves my daughter Jia Min, and I love Daiyu. 65,438+00 years old, raised and educated by her side, just like her grandson Jia Baoyu. I live with Jia Baoyu, 1 1 year old. Grandma is in charge of food and clothing. She thinks she is above Sanchun, but in fact she is only a close relative, and she is very unhappy because she was the last one to be sent palace flowers by Mrs. Wang's servant. 1 1 years old, my father died again. Since then, I have lived in Jiafu, and I have developed a aloof and arrogant character. 12 years old, after Jia Yuanchun got married, Lin Daiyu moved into Xiaoxiang Pavilion, nicknamed Princess Xiaoxiang in the Grand View Garden Poetry Society, and expressed her true feelings with poems. Lin Daiyu and Jia Baoyu were young, and gradually developed into love from the common ideal and rebellious spirit. The myth of tears returning from crimson pearls endows Lin Daiyu with charming poet temperament, injects fantasy and romance into Baodai's love, and sets the tone of tragedy. Lin Daiyu and Xue Baochai tied for the first place in the list of dreamland talented women. They all have a battle of virtue and politics in human nature, a battle of loyalty and treachery in thought and a battle of Jin Mu in marriage, and they appreciate each other because of their nature of both good and evil. However, under the oppression of feudal ethics, Lin Daiyu suffered "severe mutual coercion between wind knife and frost sword", and finally died in tears on Jia Baoyu and Xue Baochai's wedding night.
Introduction of Xue Baochai
Xue Baochai, one of the heroines in Cao Xueqin's novel A Dream of Red Mansions, is tied with Lin Daiyu as the first official book of the twelve women in Jinling, the crown of heroes, and the concubine of Jia Baoyu. She is beautiful in appearance, elegant in manners and knowledgeable. My father died early, and I have my mother (Aunt Xue) and my brother (Xue Pan). After Baochai went to Beijing, she lived in pear fragrance court, Jiafu, with her mother, Aunt Xue and her brother Xue Pan, and then moved to a secluded house in the northeast.
When she was young, the monk gave her an auspicious sentence, "Never leave", which was engraved on the golden ware. Xue Jia built a golden lock with the words given by the monk engraved on it. These eight words are like a pair of psychic Baoyu who engraved "Don't forget, don't forget, become immortal and live in Heng Chang" on Jia Baoyu's carry-on, implying a good marriage. A Dream of Red Mansions was lost after 1980s. It is speculated that after Lin Daiyu died, Jia Baoyu married Xue Baochai, but they did not grow old together. Jia Baoyu soon saw through the world of mortals and became a monk. After forty chapters, Xue Baochai and Jia Baoyu became relatives on the day when Lin Daiyu died.
