The water surface of the reservoir is 3 kilometers vertically and horizontally, and the rainwater collection area is 15 square kilometers, with a total storage capacity of 63.84 million cubic meters. The existing earth dam is 28 meters high, 6 meters wide and 249 meters long. There are 2 flood gates with a maximum flood discharge of 452 cubic meters per second. Qiufengling Reservoir is located in the southwest of Chaonan District, which is named because it is located on the north side of the original Qiufengling Village (moved). Built in November, 1959, it is the largest medium-sized reservoir in Shantou City, which is mainly used to intercept floods and store water, with a rainwater collection area of 15.1 square kilometers (including the rainwater collection area of the upstream Hongchang Reservoir) and a total storage capacity of 69.3 million cubic meters, taking into account the comprehensive utilization of irrigation, water supply and power generation. Since its completion, it has effectively controlled the flood and drought disasters in Lianjiang River Basin, and solved the irrigation of 12, mu of farmland downstream and the population of nearly 5, in six towns. As the main backbone project to control flood and drought disasters in Lianjiang, it has played a comprehensive role in flood control, water storage, power generation, irrigation and water supply for more than 4 years.
