The geographical area of Pazhou Tower

Pazhou, formerly known as Pipazhou, is located on the south bank of the southeast Pearl River and northwest of Huangpu Town. It used to be a sandbar in the river, but now it is connected with the south bank. It is named after the outline of sandbar in ancient times, and because it is located in the main road of the Pearl River, it is called "Huicheng Shuikou".

Pazhou Pagoda stands on Pazhou, originally built as a Feng Shui Pagoda. Together with Lotus Pagoda on Lotus Hill in Panyu District, Guangzhou and Chigang Pagoda in Haizhu District, Guangzhou, it is used to supplement the lack of aura in Guangzhou Dongshuikou.

Pazhou Pagoda is also an important site of the Maritime Silk Road in Guangzhou in history. Pazhou Tower stands on the hill in Pizhou, and plays the role of a navigation lighthouse. If you enter Guangzhou by boat from the Pearl River Estuary, you will see this Pazhou Tower, which is like a mainstay, so you call it Pazhou Column, which later became one of the eight scenic spots in Yangcheng in Qing Dynasty. It led a steady stream of ships loaded with goods into the land of China and witnessed the exchange and spread of Chinese and foreign cultures. In the eighth year of Dazhong Xiangfu (10 15), it was located in Zhu Guo, southern India, and stopped here when it came to pay tribute to pearls in the Song Dynasty. At that time, there was no tower on Pipa Island, and the ambassador recorded this place as "Guangzhou Pipa Mountain". This incident was recorded in the Biography of Song History compiled by Yuan people.

Entering Guangzhou from the Pearl River Estuary, I saw the order of the three towers: Lotus Tower-Pazhou Tower-Chigang Tower.
