Ten of Wang Wei's most famous poems, Autumn Night in the Deep Mountains.
Wang Wei in Tang Dynasty
The empty mountains are bathed in a new rain, and feel the early autumn at night.
The bright moon shed clear light from the cracks and cleared the fountain on the rocks.
The bamboo forest is sonorous, the washerwoman returns, and the lotus leaves are swaying to get on the canoe.
Spring spring might as well give it a rest, and the autumn sun can stay on the hills for a long time.
This poem was written by the poet when he lived in seclusion in Zhongnanshan in his later years, and it is one of the representative works of Wang Wei's pastoral poems.
Wang Wei's Autumn Night in a Mountain has a beautiful artistic conception, but the change of his mood when he writes poetry is even more commendable.
One of the characteristics of Wang Wei's poems is that it is difficult for you to read out some emotional colors of the theme in the poems, such as pastoral poems, which are often described as joyful, comfortable and somewhat complacent by ancient China literati. However, in Wang Wei's works, it is difficult for us to see these feelings, especially his poems when he retired to my seclusion in Zhongnanshan in his later years. He was alone, "I will walk until the water stops me, and then sit and watch the rising clouds." Is he happy? Not exactly. He seems to define the word "indifferent", which naturally leads us to a distant realm of "quiet and self-sustaining, indifferent without desire", and we can't understand his loneliness, although he wrote about a person's seclusion; I can't read his sadness, although he sent many people away here; I can't understand his happiness and his complacency. This is a state of "no one is right or wrong, I am happy or sad". He seems a little detached. For example, the song "Bamboo House" is "I am leaning alone in the dense bamboo, playing the pipa and humming a song. The voice is so low that no one can hear it except my partner Mingyue. " Described a person in the depths of the bamboo forest at night, playing the piano and whistling, but not alone; The song "Bird Singing Creek" "People are idle and osmanthus flowers fall, and the night is quiet and the mountains are empty. When the moon rises, the birds are surprised, and when the stream is deep. " Describing the leisure in the mountains at night, we, as readers, have a little meaning of "not worrying about our own affairs is a good time on earth", but putting this ethereal and quiet scenery beside Wang Wei makes us feel higher, and he will not simply express "nothing in his heart".
