Legend of Tian Huangshi

According to legend, Emperor Qianlong once dreamed that he was summoned by the Jade Emperor, who gave him a yellow stone and three Chinese characters "Fushoutian". Emperor Qianlong was so happy when he woke up that he thought it was a good omen, but he was puzzled by the situation in his dream. The next day, he summoned ministers to give him a "dream". After hearing this, a minister in Fujian province quickly knelt down and told him that Tian Huangshi, who was born in Shoushan, Fuzhou, must have been given by the Jade Emperor, because it coincided with the word "longevity day" given by the Jade Emperor. Emperor Qianlong was very happy after hearing this and thought it was really a gift from heaven. From then on, he dedicated Tian Huangshi in the middle of the sacrificial table in the ceremony.

This legend is equally beautiful.

Compared with these two legends, the other legend is dwarfed. According to legend, at the end of the Yuan Dynasty, the world was in chaos and the people were in dire straits. Zhu Yuanzhang, a poor boy in Fengyang, Anhui Province, fled to Shoushan, Fuzhou to avoid famine. He was hungry and cold, but he was caught in a heavy rain. He hid in a cave digging Shoushan stone. It rained continuously for several days, and he slept in the cave for several days. Fortunately, he didn't starve to death, otherwise there would be no later Ming Taizu. The rain stopped and it cleared up. Zhu Yuanzhang got up sideways. At this time, a miracle happened. His scabies has not been cured. It turned out that he slept on the stone powder of Tian Huangshi, and Tian Huangshi cured him. Later, he became the first emperor of the Ming Dynasty and sent eunuchs to mine Tian Huangshi.

Legend is most afraid of "well-documented", and the goddess fills the sky and sprinkles Shoushan, which has existed since ancient times and has a long history; Emperor Qianlong is dreaming, and no one can enter his dream; Only Zhu Yuanzhang's legend can't stand scrutiny: first, if Zhu Yuanzhang is trying to avoid famine, he must never cross Jiangsu and Zhejiang, a land of plenty, to beg in Shoushan village in the hinterland; So it is even more impossible to avoid a military disaster, because at that time, he had left the ancestral temple and ran to the hands of Guo Zixing, the leader of the anti-Yuan rebel army, and became the "Qin Bing centurion"-the squad leader of the guard. Secondly, Tian Huangshi is produced in paddy fields, but what is produced in caves is not called "Tian Huang", and so far it has not been heard that stone farmers have to put Tian Huang in caves for a period of time. Third, the next generation was a very dark time, and spy organizations such as "East Factory", "West Factory" and "Royal Guards" appeared. Killing the prime minister is like killing civilians. In such a political atmosphere, all the officials were silent. If Zhu Yuanzhang regards Tian Huang as a treasure, absolutely no one dares to say "no". It happened that there was a political envoy named Xie Zaihang in the Ming Dynasty who didn't even mention "Tian Huang", but named "wormwood bluestone" produced in Wuhuakeng, Shoushan as the first Shoushan stone.

In fact, the "history" discovered by Tian Huangshi is very short. The middle and early Ming dynasty was unknown to people. Found it by accident. According to Shi Hongbao's Fujian Miscellanies in the Qing Dynasty, the cause turned out to be an old farmer who went to the city to sell grain. Because the burden is light at one end and heavy at the other, he conveniently took a piece of Huang Shitou dug out of the ground and put it on the light end. Passing by the door of Cao Xuequan, a famous writer at home, Cao Xuequan found it, bought it and began to "chase it". But it seems that for a long time after that, people didn't pay enough attention to it.

During the reign of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty, people's love for Shoushan Stone was unprecedentedly high, and there was a situation of "celebrities and bachelors, holding jade, dying in poverty, emphasizing theory and discrimination", and even reaching a situation of "changing their hobbies". During the reign of Emperor Kangxi, a man from Minhou (now Fuzhou) wrote "Stone Watching", which vividly described 140 pieces of Shoushan stone he saw in the homes of more than ten friends, and divided them into "divine products", "one product" and "wonderful products". However, it looks like Tian Huang, I'm afraid there are only a few words, flawless sweet, yellow like steamed chestnuts, amber hundreds of years ago, sweet with blood, sexy and yellow like okra.

Later, Mao Qiling, a native of Xiaoshan, Hangzhou, wrote a record of looking at stones in the back. Although he first put forward the viewpoint of "pit is the first", he still emphasizes color over quality in specific articles. The thirteen "top grades" listed in the book are wormwood green, sheep fat, pigeon eye sand, blue sky, melon pulp red, shrimp back green and meat fat. Judging from the situation introduced in the article, I am afraid that only "honey-refined jujube" looks like Tian Huang! Only in the twelve pieces of Zhongpin, three pieces of beeswax, okra beeswax (a kind of loquat yellow) and sweet yellow beeswax are mentioned, which are similar to Tian Huang. This is enough to reflect from one side that even during the Kangxi period, Tian Huangshi did not receive widespread attention.

Tian Huangshi was valued, probably during the Yongzheng period, in Rong Baozhai, he treasured two huge Tian Huang Fang that Yong Zhengdi gave to his thirteenth brother Yun Xiang. Yun Xiang, Yong Zhengdi's most trusted younger brother, was named Prince Yi and an "iron hat king". In the early days of the founding of the Qing Dynasty, eight distinguished "iron hat kings" emerged, which could be "hereditary". For example, if an attacker commits a crime, he will only be replaced by other family members, that is, his children and grandchildren will always be kings. Other non-"iron hat kings" will be knighted every time they pass the title, even if they do not commit crimes. During the decades from Shunzhi to Kangxi, no one else was named "Iron Hat King", which shows that Yong Zhengdi prized Yun Xiang, named his prized brother "Iron Hat King" and sealed Tian Huang, which also shows that Yong Zhengdi attached importance to Tian Huangshi. During the Qianlong period, Tian Huangshi was rewarded by Emperor Qianlong, and since then he has achieved the lofty status of "Stone King" and "Stone Emperor". Since then, Tian Huang's position has not wavered at all.
