In the second stage, the refrigerant continues to absorb heat, and the temperature rises to become superheated gas, which belongs to sensible heat change. The degree of refrigerant temperature rise is overheating. The purpose of having a certain degree of superheat at the evaporator outlet is to ensure that the refrigerant sucked by the compressor must be gaseous, so that the compressor will not have liquid hammer phenomenon.
For the system with expansion valve, the superheat of the evaporation box is controlled by the expansion valve, and for the system with throttle pipe, the collection dryer behind the evaporation box ensures that the compressor must suck gaseous refrigerant.
