Compared with the belt transmission devices used in other engines, the gear transmission is very reliable, and there is no need to worry about the maintenance and replacement of the belt in the later stage. Because the characteristics of freight cars are different from those of passenger cars, the steering system must be reliable and durable. During driving, if the booster pump doesn't work because of belt breakage, the consequences are unimaginable. Therefore, the gear-driven booster pump must be selected as the engine.
The yellow box in the above picture is marked as seat belt pretensioner. The belt of the engine needs to drive the water pump, compressor, motor and other components, so the design of the belt circumference is relatively long. Under long-term use and temperature difference, the transmission belt will become longer, and the tensioner only plays a role in adjusting the tightness.
The green boxes in the above picture are marked as air compressor (left prototype not installed) and generator device (right). When the layout of the engine allows, the electrical software is designed at the upper left and upper right of the engine, which is convenient for later inspection and maintenance.
The red box in the above picture indicates a single-cylinder water-cooled air pump, both of which are geared. The advantages of gear over belt drive are not detailed here. The design of the water-cooled cylinder head ensures that when the air pump really works for a long time, the coolant in the cylinder head will circulate with the coolant in the engine cycle, and there will be no high temperature phenomenon and no damage to the air pump.
