Why doesn't Lagerstroemia indica germinate after planting?
Lagerstroemia indica likes warm and humid, likes light but is slightly resistant to shade, and has certain cold resistance and drought resistance. I like to grow in calcareous soil and fertile sandy loam, although I can grow in clay soil, but the speed is slow. Longevity trees can live for more than 500 years, and ancient trees can still flourish. Young trees grow rapidly, while middle-aged and old trees grow slowly. The Yangtze river basin began to sprout in April, with strong germination. The formation of flower buds is about the beginning of June after the branches stop growing; At this time, the temperature is above 30℃ and there is little rain, which is beneficial to flower bud differentiation.
Flowering inflorescences are usually around June 20, and only a few days need to be taken out, and the basal buds will begin to bloom. If the temperature is lower than 30℃ and there is more rain in June, the top will continue to extend, the inflorescence will be pulled out, or a few branches will bloom. Allow yourself to grow, dense and slender, easy to aging, few or no inflorescences, or flowering every other year. The single flowering period is 5-8 days, each inflorescence can bloom for about 50 days, and the flowering period of the whole plant group is longer than 120 days.
Generally, young trees bloom 7- 10 days earlier than old trees. If it is rainy in summer and the temperature is below 30℃, the flowering of old trees will be delayed, only a few flowers will bloom, but young trees will not. However, the newly transplanted Lagerstroemia indica was injured in the root and had poor water absorption ability, but it blossomed on time. Long-term shading cannot be tolerated, otherwise it will rarely bloom and grow poorly. The flower branches are 30-50 cm long, grow healthily, have long inflorescences, and more flowers are preferred; Slender branches and long branches, short inflorescences and few flowers. Branches with early flowering can be shortened in early July to promote secondary branches, which can bloom, but the inflorescence is short.
