The geographical location of Gounan Xudi Tourist Area

Gounan Xu Land is located in Gounan Village, Yuepu Street, northern suburbs of Shantou City, in the northeastern corner of Jinping District and the border area with Chaozhou. It was built in the late Southern Song Dynasty (about 1217). It is less than one kilometer away from Anbu in the direction of Shantou University. You can get here directly by taking Bus No. 52 from downtown Shantou (the original Bus No. 101 has been rerouted). It is backed by Shishan Mountain and faces Hanjiang River. It is located in the tidal triangle, where the Five Ridges of South China enter the sea. It was first inhabited at the end of the Yuan Dynasty and was named Zijuanlong. Sangpu Mountain lies to the north and a tributary of the Hanjiang River flows through it to the south. Because the whole village is named Xu, it is called "Gounan Xu Land". It covers an area of 1.5 square kilometers and has a population of more than 1,800 people. It is only 7 kilometers away from the city center. It was named Zijuanlong in ancient times. The whole village is surnamed Xu. It is said that the Xu family is a descendant of Emperor Yan Yuan, with the original surname Jiang. King Wu of Zhou granted his descendant grandson Wen Shugong to Xu State (today's Xuchang, Henan Province), and his descendants took the country as their surname. The ancestors migrated from Xuchang, Xu State in the Central Plains, and in the Han Dynasty, they were divided into southern and northern branches. During the reign of Emperor Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty, the "Barbarian Roaring Rebellion" broke out in places between Fujian and Guangdong who disobeyed the central government's orders. Tang Gaozong immediately sent Chen Zheng and Chen Yuanguang to lead more than 5,600 officers and soldiers, and appointed Xu Tianzheng as deputy general to lead a mighty team of 123 soldiers to conquer. Because of his meritorious service in the expedition, Xu Tianzheng was granted the title of training envoy to the Quan and Zhang regiments, and was given the title of Taiwei in front of the palace to attack General Xuanwei. According to the emperor's decree, Chen Zheng, Chen Yuanguang and Xu Tianzheng, together with the soldiers who went to quell the rebellion, all settled in Zhangzhou, Quanzhou and Chaozhou. Xu Tianzheng was first stationed in Nanzhao (now Zhao'an, Fujian), and later in Quanzhou. Xu Tianzheng's descendants are now spread throughout Fujian and Guangdong, and they all regard Xu Tianzheng as their founding ancestor. Xu Lie, the eleventh generation descendant of Xu Tianzheng, moved from Zhao'an to Chaozhou during the reign of Dazhong Xiangfu, Emperor Zhenzong of the Song Dynasty, and built a house next to Hanshan Mountain. Xu Lie is the founding ancestor of the Xu family in Chaozhou. Xu Lie is also the father of Xu Shen, one of the "Eight Sages of Chaozhou". Later, his grandson Xu Jue became the consort of Princess De'an of Yingzong in the Northern Song Dynasty. Xu Lie's tenth descendant Xu Zhaoji gave birth to four sons. After Xu Zhaoji's death, his fourth son Xu Honglie moved out of Chaozhou City and lived in Gounan Village, Jieyang County. Gounan Village once belonged to Chenghai County and now belongs to Shantou City. Since the 10th generation Xu Zhaoji and his fourth son Xu Honglie came here from Chaozhou to establish the foundation, they have multiplied for 700 years. By the 15th generation, the lineage had divided into branches. One branch stayed in the mainland and later moved to Anbu Malong. In the Qing Dynasty During the Qianlong period, one family moved to Guangzhou and became a prominent family in Guangzhou.

Looking from the mountain, Gounan Village looks like a big flower basket. The stamens are scattered in the world, and the scenery is unique. There is a saying that the feng shui of crab land is strong and strong. The two lakes in the north and south are surrounded by neat and square ancient dwellings. In the green of "the buds in front and behind" are dotted with dozens of large trees that are more than a hundred years old. Legend has it that a flying bird picked up a tree seed and grew into a tree. A big tree. People regard it as a symbol of "Tian En" and settle down and start a business here. The ancestors planted and protected trees, loved and fed birds, which reflected the trendy people's worship and care of nature and the environment. The south side of Hunan is an idyllic scenery: green trees line the edges, criss-crossing streets, fish ponds reflect the sun, and rice fields are golden. White ducks float on the green water, and goose paws float on the clear waves. A small road connects Miao Nao to Shantou Agricultural Science Institute, just like the branches of a flower basket inserted in the endless woods. Beside the lake is an ecological ornamental garden - surrounded by leisure grassland and covered bridges for people to fish and taste mullet. It is truly Shantou's "urban villa". The banyan trees in Gounan Village are hundreds of years old. The oldest one is over 700 years old. It is said that they were planted when the village was first built in the late Song Dynasty. They have witnessed the changes in the history of Gounan Village. Langui Lake is named after Langui Qifang, which means that when children grow up, they pick orchids and win laurels. Gui means laurel crown, and laurel crown means champion. That is to say, to encourage people to succeed in reading. Most of the ponds in front of Chaoshan villages were taken out when houses were built. They can not only be used for boating, washing roads, raising fish, and fire prevention, but can also adjust the humidity of the air and maintain the groundwater level. At the same time, the size of the pond is also a factor in the strength of the village. symbol. Lan Kwai Lake is 400 meters long and 60 meters wide. The water surface is wide and the environment is clean. Every year during the Dragon Boat Festival, the village holds dragon boat races here. It is the most lively time of the year in Lan Kwai Lake.

As soon as we arrived at the entrance of Gounan Village, we were greeted by an antique screen wall with four words on it: Gounan Xu Di. Who wrote these four words? This person has a great origin. He is Mr. Lu Xun. Of course, it is impossible for us contemporary people to ask Mr. Lu Xun to specially inscribe these four characters for Gounan. This is a combination of Lu Xun's characters. So why use Mr. Lu Xun’s words? Because this is the hometown of Xu Guangping, Mr. Lu Xun’s wife. In 1922, Xu Guangping, a "rebellious" woman from the Xu family in Gounan, met Lu Xun, the anti-feudal standard-bearer of liberalization, in Beijing. They later became lifelong partners and made outstanding contributions to the Shitong New Culture Movement.

Behind the screen wall is an exquisite Chaozhou Kirin inlaid on porcelain. It is said that only the minister is worthy of this half-crouching, half-standing Kirin.

Bypassing the screen wall is the east gate of Gounan Village. You can see the typical layout of Chaoshan folk houses that pay attention to Feng Shui science. Purple air means coming from the east, which is our ancestors’ experience of "the wind comes from the east". In summary, it is an auspicious gate. The screen wall and fence in front of the gate are said to be "the scenery is not exposed, and the wealth is not leaked". The gatekeeper is this stone lion from the Ming Dynasty. It has a simple shape and protects the peace of the whole village. There is a "Nanhai Shengwang Temple" next to it, which reflects the maritime cultural awareness of the factory's trendy people. There is a dragon boat house next to it, which has become the most sacred place in the village.
