Where is Wudang Mountain?
Wudang Mountain is located in the southwest of Shiyan City, Hubei Province, bordering Xiangfan City in the east, Shiyan City in the west, Shennongjia Forest Area in the south and Danjiangkou Reservoir in the north. There are many peaks in Wudang Mountain, surrounded by low mountains, with a massive bulge in the center, which is mostly composed of Paleozoic phyllite, slate and schist. There are granite in some areas, and there are signs of rising along the old fault line, forming many cliff landforms.
Wudang Mountain is a famous Taoist shrine in China, which has been an important place for religious activities from the Spring and Autumn Period to the end of Han Dynasty. Wudang Wushu, also known as Neijia Boxing, is good at Tai Chi, form, meaning and gossip, and takes health preservation as its purpose. It has the characteristics and functions of light center of gravity, affecting four or two thousand pounds, combining rigidity with softness, taking advantage of others, prolonging life, eliminating diseases and preventing diseases.
The main attractions of Wudang Mountain:
1, Jinding
Jinding is located on Xiaolian Peak in front of Tianzhu Peak. Cast in the 11th year of Yuan Dynasty (1307), the overhangs are 3m in height, 2.8m in width and 2.4m in depth. All components are cast in one piece, assembled with mortises and tenons, and all castings are marked with words indicating the installation position. The words "This hall was cast in Wuchang Wan Workshop in the 11th year of Yuan Dade" are cast on the fan skirt, which is the earliest existing copper-cast wooden structure in China.
2. Qiongtai View
Qiongtai Temple is located at the southeast foot of Tianzhu Peak, about 10 km, with a vertical distance of 1.350 m. It is divided into top view, middle view and bottom view. The Yuan Dynasty was called "Qiongtai Palace". During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, 24 Taoist temples and hundreds of temple houses were repaired and expanded. Xianfeng in Qing dynasty was destroyed by fire for six years (1856). Some temples have been restored. This is the starting point of Wudang Mountain passenger ropeway. It has become an important tourist distribution center.
3. Southern Yan
Nanyan is a "holy land" called by Taoism, and it is the most beautiful place among the 36 rocks in Wudang Mountain. Southern Yan Palace was built in the 22nd year of Yuan Dynasty to the 3rd year of Yuan Dynasty, and expanded in the 10th year of Yongle in Ming Dynasty. Located at the foot of Duyangyan, the mountain is like the wings of the sky, famous for its beautiful peaks.
