Tongguan Zhongzhou Natural Village
Introduction to site selection and layout
All Zhongzhou Natural Villages have the surname Wen. According to genealogy records, the villagers moved from Xincuo Village, Gaoyang Village, Shicang, Xianyou in the late Ming Dynasty. According to legend, my ancestor was a famous geomancer, and he took photos of many Feng Shui treasures. One day while traveling around the territory of Zhongzhou, he found a dragon's cave that looked like a lobster leaving the harbor. There was a Crouching Tiger Table Mountain in front of it, surrounded by sand and water on the left and right. Standing on a stone, the intention is made, and the drawing is preserved. Later, people with the surname Wen flourished and gradually moved away from their ancestral home. In 1606, Wen Wenxiu built a house (the old house) in Zhongzhou Lobster Cave and developed it. It has been more than 400 years ago and the population has reached 648 people.
Zhongzhou Village has a standard Feng Shui pattern: there is a Xuanwu backing mountain at the back, several cases of redbirds in the front, a green dragon on the left and a white tiger on the right. In the middle is a flat pastoral with streams and jade belts surrounding the waist, creating an pastoral scenery of green mountains and green waters, like Peachland scenery. "Village, pastoral and landscape", the perfect combination of heaven, earth and people, showing the harmony between man and nature. The ancient river (Tongguan River) in front of the village flows slowly, and facing the green Crouching Tiger Mountain, there are ancient trees, ponds, and orchards. During the annual water selling season, farmers rush to the river to plant rice on the Mid-Autumn Festival. Stone-paved bridges form a unique custom. On the right front are Shibalun, Mushan and Changkeng Canyons, the 100-meter Wengzhong Waterfall and Niangou Waterfalls are shining with silver light, and the tall Mushan Stone Village is hidden in the vast hectares of primeval forest, passing by the ancient ferry. The ancient post road leads directly to the front of the village. You can sit on the ancient post station and enjoy the cool breeze, watching the golden rice fields in front of you. The two large and small boats ("big boats come in, small boats go out") are facing the wind and waves, and the Shegong Temple is in it. In the cabin of the boat, it protects the villagers' safety when going to sea. Backed by mountains, there are layers of terraced fields and layers of orchards that serve as a garden for the villagers to become wealthy and a happy home. Each gun tower next to the ancient house adds a bit of dignity and stability to the village. The sound of reading loudly from the book school next to the old house and the sound of running water from the cobblestone drainage system formed a happy movement. The oil pressing room and grinding mill room are the busiest and the most dynamic place in the village. Only the flagpole stone stands there quietly to witness the glory of the ancestors in the past. The bells of the temple in the distance bring peace to the entire village. . There are also many beautiful and moving stories circulating in the ruins of Shangshu's Mansion in the east... The thousand-year-old hazel tree and the stone with the image of the No. 1 Scholar's Hat are the most authentic historical witnesses.
The ancient villages of Zhongzhou embody the essence of livability, nature and humanity. They are the creation of the earth and the most typical habitat.
