Description of the origin of Maogong Academy
Two years before Xiaojing in the Western Han Dynasty, Liu Qi made his son Liu De king of Hejian. The Hejian king became almost crazy about Confucian classics and literary books. In the history, he asked for "good books" all over the world, and he got them immediately and neatly copied, and Confucianism from all over the world traveled from them. Among these defectors is Scapharca subcrenata.
Scapharca subcrenata lives in a village more than 1 miles north of Hejian Guodu Lecheng, which was later called Shijing Village because of Scapharca subcrenata and Mao Heng.
Mao Heng is a well-known Confucian scholar. According to legend, Confucius deleted the Book of Songs and passed it on to his disciple Zixia, who passed it on to Zeng Shen, and passed it down to Mao Heng. Qin Shihuang burned books to bury Confucianism, and he was combative. Mao Heng, who took the language "Poetry" as a matter, couldn't sit still and fled with his family in a panic.
according to folk legend, Mao Heng memorized the Book of Songs when he fled, and later made a biography of exegesis and passed it on to his nephew, Scapharca. When I arrived at Wendi Jingdi, the academic atmosphere became strong. So, I heard about it, and the Scapharca subcrenata, who was personally taught, began to set up a museum to give lectures.
Junziguan Village, located three miles northwest of Shijing Village in Hejian today, is said to be the place where Scapharca subcrenata gave lectures, and people have always honored that place as "Junziguan".
Liu De, the king of Hejian, is known in history as "seeking truth from facts and studying ancient times well", because he has great respect for Scapharca subcrenata, who can speak "poetry", and was named as a doctor. He built the Rihua Palace in Lecheng, the capital city, and a gentleman's hall in the north, and ordered Scapharca subcrenata to give lectures and teach his disciples here.
It is precisely because of the great contribution that Big Mao Gong and Little Mao Gong inherited and spread the Book of Songs that they were respected by the officials and people of all dynasties. According to the Records of Jiajing Hejian Mansion, from Yuan Dynasty to Zhengnian, Sicheng Wang, the manager of Hejian Road, played and built an academy in Chongdeli Maojinglei, and set up a mountain as a memorial. After the college was destroyed several times, only a stone tablet and a pair of stone lions were left in the "Dr. Han Maoji Gong Lecture Hall"; On the side of the plaque of "Maogong School".
Its site is now Sanlipu junior high school.
