The city is closed, and then you can take a minibus from Dengfeng City to the Shaolin Temple, Zhongyue Temple, Star Observation Deck and other major attractions (there are many cars, and they will open when the crowds are full). It takes about 3 hours to go from Zhengzhou to the famous Songshan Shaolin Temple via Dengfeng. Zhengzhou Railway Station has a special one-day tour bus to visit Dahuting Han Tomb, Zhongyue Temple, Songyang Academy and Shaolin Temple in Xinmi City. The round-trip ticket is 40 yuan.
Luoyang is closer to Shaolin Temple and can be reached in less than 2 hours. Songshan National Forest Park is located in the northwest of Dengfeng City, Henan Province. It belongs to the eastern extension of the Qinling Mountains. It is nearly 100 kilometers long from east to west and about 60 kilometers wide from north to south. The total area is about 1,200 square kilometers. It consists of Zhongshan and Songshan Mountains and includes five major parts: Sanhuangzhai Scenic Area, Shaolin Temple Scenic Area, Songyin Scenic Area, Zhongyue Scenic Area and Ma'anshan Scenic Area.
