Prose about deeply remembering Mr. Huang Quanzhong

When I got up this morning, I saw a message from a friend: Mr. Huang Quanzhong has passed away, please come together to express his condolences. When the bad news came, I was immediately devastated and sad. My mood fell to the bottom like the weather in winter, and I felt as if I was being stabbed by needles.

Teacher Huang Quanzhong is a highly respected scholar in Wugong County.

He was born in March 1935 and graduated from Qian County Normal University in 1954. He worked successively in the county education system, cultural center, and cultural management committee. He served as director of Wugong County Cultural Center, deputy director of the cultural management committee, Party branch secretary.

Teacher Huang Quan is 16 years older than me, so he should be my elder. I remember that I had a professional relationship with him in the mid-1990s. His approachable work style and extremely responsible and rigorous attitude towards work left an indelible impression on me. With the same temperament and the same experience, we soon became close friends.

At that time, Teacher Huang served as the deputy director of the county cultural management committee, and I served as the director of the cultural relics police station of the county public security bureau. When I first came into contact with the old gentleman, I saw that he was plainly dressed, unassuming in appearance, and seemed a bit dull in his work. However, through a period of work contact, we found that he was steady and elegant. At work, he talked about the past and the present, cited classics, and was knowledgeable and eloquent, which left a deep impression on us.

Teacher Huang traveled around for the management of cultural relics in his hometown, performed his duties conscientiously, and made arduous efforts. We once braved the scorching heat to go deep into the site of an ancient tomb that was excavated, and recovered the burial artifacts and epitaphs; we once worked overnight at a brick factory site in a village to recover robbed Western Zhou bronzes and other underground artifacts; we once, based on reports from the masses, found in A large number of pottery and other cultural relics were seized from a family's Bagua kiln; a bronze mirror, a national second-level cultural relic unearthed, was quickly seized in the cold winter. We have climbed all over the slopes and ridges of Wugong County and protected a large number of cultural relics and historical sites; we have traveled to every corner of Wugong County and rescued and excavated a large number of valuable underground cultural relics. At that time, I was just middle-aged, and Teacher Huang was already 60 years old, and he was still busy with us regardless of rain or shine. His hard-working, hard-working spirit deeply moved me and my colleagues.

He loves the cultural relics research and cultural relics protection work in his hometown to the point of obsession; he has put forward many constructive opinions on the excavation and development of cultural relics and historical sites in his hometown. The masterpiece "Wugong Ancient Search", which he painstakingly compiled over five years, is a textbook that promotes the humanistic history of martial arts and is a rare and precious treasure left to martial arts and even the Chinese people. He has a rigorous academic research style and is far-sighted in the protection and development of cultural relics. He has made an indelible contribution to the protection of cultural relics in Wugong County. I remember one time, when we were inspecting cultural relics protection work with Zhang Zongshan, the deputy county magistrate, we saw that the lintel wall of Su Wu's tomb in Longmen Village, Wugong Town at that time was in a dilapidated state, overgrown with weeds, and trampled on by humans and animals. Mr. Huang was very sad about this. He had a unique insight and suggested that efforts should be made to increase the development and publicity of Suwu Ancient Tomb, and strive to make it a business card for opening up and promoting martial arts to the outside world. For this reason, Deputy County Magistrate Zhang Zongshan was deeply moved and expressed his strong support. Later, with the help of Teacher Huang and a large number of knowledgeable people, a Su Wu Memorial Hall covering an area of 27,000 square meters was finally built. The World Su Clan Conference is held here every year. The Su Wu Memorial Hall has become a patriotic education base in Xianyang City.

Later, due to job changes, I no longer engaged in cultural relic protection work, and Teacher Huang also left his job at the age of 65 due to his old age. Although work has changed, our friendship has remained deep and ever stronger. I always take the time to visit Gaozhuang Village, where he lives in the countryside. Every time I went to his house, I would always see the teacher either studying hard in front of his bed, or writing in front of his desk. When seeing friends coming from afar, he would always get up in a hurry to receive them warmly. When talking about martial arts anecdotes, he would always quote scriptures and talk eloquently, making people often admire them and always cherish the feeling of regretting seeing them late.

On July 11 this year, when I was visiting the White Rabbit Temple in Guanyintang Village, I heard that Teacher Huang was in poor health, so I hurriedly went to visit. He has just returned home from treatment in Xi'an Hospital and is in good spirits. He was very excited when he saw me coming to visit. He sat up from the bed and held my hand, unwilling to let go for a long time. With the same experiences and the same hobbies, there are naturally endless intimate words to talk about. During this period, the teacher gave me his book "Martial Arts Searching for Ancient Range Rover". I said that I should treasure it and read it, study traditional culture diligently, and enrich my life! Hearing that I had participated in the compilation of the "Wugong County Public Security Chronicle" a few years ago, he expressed his interest in reading it at a glance. Seeing that at the age of 80 he was still ambitious and never tired of learning, I was deeply moved and expressed my gratitude to him for giving him a copy and asking for corrections. Since Teacher Huang was still recovering, it was inconvenient for me to stay for a long time, so I said goodbye and returned after about an hour.

July 18th is a Sunday. At noon, I braved the scorching heat and made a special trip to deliver a copy of "Wugong County Public Security Chronicle" to the teacher. At that time, during the lunch break, I saw the teacher sleeping very soundly. I couldn't bear to disturb his nap, so I handed the "Public Security Chronicle" to my wife and hurriedly left Gaozhuang Village. Who would have known that this would be my eternal farewell to Teacher Huang!

I was shocked to learn that my teacher was returning to the west. I was immersed in sorrow all day long. My heart felt like a cat scratching me, and I could not rest for a moment. In the afternoon, despite the cold wind, my colleagues and I went to express our condolences.

Seeing the wreaths all over the streets, the mourning sheds with low voices, and the portraits covered in white flowers, I couldn't help but burst into tears! In front of Teacher Huang’s soul, I bowed deeply three times to see him off! I pray silently in my heart that there will be no pain or disputes in heaven. May the teacher go well all the way and continue your unfinished career in heaven, and show your talents and ambitions again!

Teacher Huang is gone, but his approachable and noble demeanor, upright and kind personality charm, and practical work style have made me linger in my heart. This is the precious spiritual wealth he left me. !

I will keep in mind the teacher’s legacy, learn from the teacher’s integrity, turn grief into strength, play my small role and make due contributions to a better tomorrow for Wugong County and China’s take-off!
