In the long 3 years, the 12 carefully carved houses have different looks! Quanzhou Anxi Baitouge!
"Baitouge" is located at the end of the mountain of intellectual village in Penglai Town, Anxi. On the U-shaped mountain at the same altitude, there are seven magnificent century-old houses. Locals call it "Baitouge", which is named after the foothills at its feet produce a kind of "white eel soil". In fact, behind every splendid 1-year-old building is a vast family history, while "Bai Touge" refers to the same family history.
During the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty, Hu Diancheng, who grew up in this remote Shan Ye in his twenties, ran away from here wearing a pair of sandals and went all the way to the Philippines to make a living. In 198, having made a career in the Philippines, he opened this ancient residence in his hometown. It has been built for 3 years, and 12 buildings have been built in one cover. Hundreds of Hu's children once lived here, including a "Meicun Bookstore" for teaching, a "dining room" for eating and drinking, and a rectangular tulou to resist mountain bandits.
Go to intellectual village, a village in the mountains. At an altitude of 4 meters, the village roads are empty, the mountains and canyons are full of Miscanthus flowers, and the light white makes a green mountain village look very graceful.
The road to Baitouge is a stone path, driving to a high mountain, and then down the stone steps to a U-shaped mountain. Of the 12 residential groups, 5 have fallen, and some have been retreated into a Shan Ye by banana trees and vine flowers. The seven existing houses stand along the mountain, most of which are two-story Gu Lou, and the remaining three or two are recumbent ancient buildings.
The concave part of the U-shaped mountain is the central axis of this residential group. The earliest built "Xin 'an CuO" and the "Recreation Mountain Building" completed 3 years later are all here, and the ancient CuO group has a panoramic view. There are "He 'an Building" and "De 'an Building" connected by corridors in the left front, and the former study and "Tai 'an Building" in the right front. The front is a U-shaped field that slides to the bottom of the mountain layer by layer. The "dining room" with only one wall collapsed here. The corner of the mountain 1 meters away is the old "pharmacy" and the nearest to the village.
"Hu Diancheng has three brothers, and Hu Diancheng is the third. He went to Nanyang to build a business, and his two brothers stayed at home to build a house." Hu Zisheng, a descendant of the Hu family, who is nearly 7 years old, has lived here all his life. He was born in a two-story "He 'an Building". These buildings built on the mountain have two floors in the front and one floor in the back because of the rising mountain. When he was a child, his parents and grandparents called them "buttress buildings" to support the mountain wall.
when these 12 houses were built, the business outside Hujiahai was booming. Hu Diancheng, who runs native products in his hometown, had several shops in the Philippines, and Xiamen had a branch, and founded the "Jinhesheng" firm, which was quite famous in the Philippines. "The two brothers who built a business at home invited the famous Mr. Feng Shui to explore Feng Shui for the house. After living for 8 years, the stone carving master of Hui' an and the carpenter of Yongchun stayed here for 3 years." Hu Zisheng said that the distribution of this residential group is horseshoe-shaped, which is said to be the "golden chair" with excellent feng shui.
Hu's houses are exquisitely built. The stones are shipped from the Philippines, and the color is different from that of southern Fujian. The tiles pasted on the roof are imported from Italy, and each house uses galvanized pipes to introduce tap water. The room is furnished with Qing style furniture, wooden partition fans, and exquisite carving. Many partition fans are painted with beautiful pictures of mountains, which are still handsome and lovely after a hundred years.
in 198, an ancient building was built here. In the same year, in the United States, which is far away from mountains and oceans, Edison obtained the patent right to invent the film projector, and Hu Diancheng, who accepted the new trend of thought in the Philippines. Many years later, he brought back a hand-cranked silent film projector and many rolls of foreign film, which opened the door to a new world for the villagers in the mountains.
A hundred years ago, houses in Baitouge were connected by undulating stone steps, and steam lamps were installed in front of the houses and on the stone roads. As night falls, the steam lights are gradually lit up, Nanyin ancient music is playing or black-and-white movies are starting, which is like an independent and prosperous town.
In the long 3 years, 12 houses carved with exquisite carvings have different looks, ranging from ancient buildings in southern Fujian to earth buildings, and then to buildings with mixed Chinese and western styles. Each building has its own function.
Hu Dian became three brothers, all of whom had many children. The extended family lived together for several generations and never separated for decades. "Eat three meals a day together,' Zhong Ming Ding Shi'. That' dining room' is the kitchen of the Hu family. When the chefs and cooks cook every meal, they will ring the bell, and the servants of each room will walk from each room to the dining room and get their meals back. " Hu Zisheng's grandfather once told him about the scene at that time. In addition to hundreds of Hu family members eating together, the master who built houses here for 3 years and the people who helped in the village also ate here. In the dining room, the host's meals and the workers' meals are supplied in different categories, and they are also sent to the place to prepare banquets for the guests.
There are many descendants of the Hu family. Twelve houses have a "Meicun Bookstore" specially built for family members. Please invite private school teachers to teach ancient books and classics here. Hu Changju, the 91-year-old grandson of Hu Diancheng, said, "My father Hu Zhuqing was still farming in intellectual village when he was 16 years old. It was not until Grandpa made money overseas that he began to invite teachers to attend private schools. Later, in Guangxu Encori, he won a bid with his cousin, which became the most sensational thing in town." His father also became the first Anxi county magistrate in the Republic of China.
In addition to running water, ancient wells have been dug in the tulou for emergencies. There are more than 2 rooms with hidden attic, which is enough for hundreds of people to live here.
The 3-year period when the Baitouge was completed was the highlight of the Hu family. After World War II, Hu Diancheng's business in the Philippines began to decline.
When Hu Zisheng was a child, the 12 houses here were empty except the "Recreation Hill Building", and the other houses were full of descendants of the Hu family. By the 198s, all the young people in Gucuo had gone abroad, and the nearest ones were in Nanjing and Fuzhou, and in Xiamen and Anxi. Hu Zisheng lived here all his life because he taught in Shangzhi Primary School.
The young people are leaving, and the old people are passing away, which makes these houses gradually empty, broken and collapsed. Hu Zisheng and the house are getting old at the same time. The only thing he can do is to mend the leaking tile joints for the "He 'an Building" where he was born.
Now, he has also left for other places to entertain his grandchildren. Only one or two old people live with a large group of chickens and ducks in these seven remaining ancient buildings. Because it is hidden in the depths of the mountains, people occasionally find their way here. The old people in the ancient buildings have taken on the task of explaining, and they gradually understand the preciousness of the white-headed lattice in the eyes of others:
"Do you think the government can repair it here?"
"Do you think it's not worth your coming again?"
Yes, there must be many people like me who will go there to explore, and see the growth of a person and the prosperity of a family in the deep thicket of ancient houses and history. See the times and see yourself.
