Family Background
In 1963, Shui Junyi was born in a large family. It is said that the Shui family moved west from Zhejiang, a water town in the south of the Yangtze River, to Gansu hundreds of years ago. This family has many intellectuals and can be said to be a scholarly family.
Shui Junyi's father, Shui Tianming, is a Russian professor at Lanzhou University, and his mother works at the local post office. Grandpa Shui Zi served as the Director of Education of Gansu Province before liberation.
Uncle Shui Tiantong was appointed as a professor at Lanzhou University in 1979, engaged in training graduate students of Shakespeare. The two uncles, Shui Tianzhong and Shui Tianda, are researchers at the Central Academy of Fine Arts and directors at Gansu TV Station respectively.
