History of Tunnel Construction in Duanjialou Scenic Area
The underground tunnels from 19 13 to 1924 built by Duan Jia are about1850m long, most of which are brick alleys and some are stone alleys with log ceilings. The workmanship is very fine, and some areas are still intact after a hundred years. Because the confidentiality requirements were very strict at that time, it directly affected the personal life of the construction workers. It was not until 1969 that Jia Di (underground) road was discovered, and 1983 only revealed some hidden tunnel entrances when the old buildings were demolished. Around 1969, in response to Su Xiu's anti-China actions, President Mao Zedong repeatedly warned the whole party to prevent Su Xiu's sudden attack, "prepare for war" and called for "deep digging". At the call of Chairman Mao, the whole country began to prepare for war and build civil air defense fortifications on a large scale.
Under this historical background, Jingxing No.3 Mine organized a large amount of manpower and financial resources to carry out civil air defense engineering construction, and spent nearly five years before and after, building a tunnel with a length of 3,500 meters at a depth of 8 to 15 meters underground. In the process of "deep excavation", Duan Jia connected and expanded the underground tunnel built during the Japanese and Puppet period, making the total length of the tunnel reach 5556 meters. 200 1 for tourism development for tourists to visit.
Although the tunnel in Duanjialou Scenic Area has gone through a hundred years, it is basically well preserved. The tunnel is divided into upper, middle and lower floors, criss-crossing, extending in all directions, with large circulation and small circulation, densely covered with secret passages, and complete attack and defense facilities, like an underground maze, which makes people entering the tunnel at a loss. There are headquarters, confidential rooms, machinery maintenance rooms, arsenals, restaurants, shooting ranges and other places. There is a 13 exit outside the tunnel, which can go directly to Fengshan Railway Station, highway bridge, Zhengfeng Mining Factory, Hongye Hotel and the general office building of the scenic spot, and it is very convenient to enter and exit. The tunnel is warm in winter and cool in summer, and the temperature is about 18 ~ 20 degrees, which makes tourists feel very comfortable.
Duanjialou Scenic Area Tunnel runs through the north inclined shaft of Bainian Mine. There are also rare large iron thallium in underground Laojuntang and cantilever mines. Roadways and halls display five kinds of facilities and equipment, such as dispatching command, mining, transportation, ventilation and electromechanical equipment, so that visitors can feel the century-old coal mining history of Zhengfeng Mine during the tour.
On February 7, 2002, Duanjialou Scenic Tunnel was named as a provincial cultural relics protection unit by the provincial government. Deputy Commander of Kunming Military Region and Director of Sichuan Provincial Public Security Department were amazed after visiting the tunnel and spoke highly of it. Wang Xinyong, director of Hebei Tourism Bureau, called Duanjialou Tunnel "the Great Underground Wall". Liu, director of the Municipal Civil Defense Office, wrote an inscription "Building the Great Wall with a Hundred Years' Experience" after inspecting Duanjialou Tunnel Project.
The tunnel in Duanjialou Scenic Area not only has the function of civil air defense engineering, but also has high cultural relics value and taste appreciation, and its mystery is expected to be slowly uncovered.
