When is the riverside scene on Qingming Festival?

Tomb-Sweeping Day is one of the traditional festivals in China and an important solar term. It usually falls on April 4 or 5 of the Gregorian calendar. Before and after Tomb-Sweeping Day, people would go to the ancestral graves to sweep graves and carry out sacrificial activities. Among them, hanging the club is a traditional ritual activity, which was completed five days before Qingming Festival and after beginning of spring.

Hanging the club is a ritual of ancestor worship of Miao nationality in western Hunan. The fifth lunar day after beginning of spring is called Social Day. The social day must pay homage to the ancestors who died three years ago, which is called "hanging the society". The method of sacrifice is to pick fresh Artemisia and wild onion on the mountain, wash and chop them, rub off the bitter water, add salt and fry them dry, mix half soaked japonica rice and glutinous rice, add diced bacon, dried bean curd, peanuts, sesame seeds, red dates, winter bamboo shoots and lard, cook them into a public sacrifice meal, and take them to the grave of the deceased ancestors for memorial service. Sacrifice for three years, the community terminated, and the anniversary was changed to Tomb-Sweeping Day.
