Low temperature welding of welding defects
No matter which welding method is adopted, the following protective measures must be taken when welding in low-temperature climate (below +5℃) to avoid the adverse effects caused by low-temperature welding joints (brittle, hard and easy to crack, and defects such as pinholes and slag inclusions caused by rapid cooling and weld solidification):
A) Welding shall be carried out in an area that is not disturbed by bad weather (such as wind, humidity and airflow);
B) Dry the welded joint to avoid material shrinkage caused by moisture;
C) preheating the welded joint to slow down the cooling rate of the welded seam;
D) Cover the weld after welding to prevent the weld from quenching.
E) The minimum welding temperature is-10℃, and the said protective measures should be taken.
F) If necessary, the flame with a preheating temperature of at least 50℃ should be preheated slowly and evenly.
